Lots of great gear that will never get to use again with that character, though schematics and the like synched with the Golden Nug may help other characters. I also did not know of a new bunch of setting offered in Options called Trials; sort of an XCOM Second wave set of tailored challenges for each Player to use if they wish.
Not a fan of having battles entered after a cut-scene without Auto-Pause; recommend saving before going thru Mirrors. But overall a fine tailored piece of storytelling that appears will differ based on each character, World State, and choices made along the way. 9/10

If your takeaway is that I regard anyone who doesn't fart around in Skyhold as much as I do a "hater" - I dunno, then. Certainly not the one I intended. The sort I'm talking about though are disingenuous at best, liars at worst. And they're seemingly doing it just to crap on the game... so, haters. I assure you, only a few names around here come to mind.
That said, you really can't judge them unless you've played them. JoH has plenty of quests and plenty of combat tied up in the main plot, and it's not all fetch quests. Youtubing it does not give an accurate picture. If someone said they beat it in three or four hours, they're not giving you the full story.
Ok... but your response to what Xetykins said (that a lot of people stated that it took them 4 hours to finish Trespasser) was full on dismissive and that they must be lying, or they are haters that just skipped through the dialogue, etc. I know that there are some people out there like you described, but not all are like that. And the way you phrased your comment just... really didn't agree with me, I guess. Because I'm one of those people that can finish games really fast without skipping anything.
You can fight the same boss for 40 minutes because you're playing on nightmare and taking your time with the tactical camera, while I can beat them in 5 minutes because I'm playing on easy and my characters are overleveled, but that doesn't really add to the main story, because like I said it's all subjective. That and exploration, because while someone may walk around in circles or explore every little corner, I may go straight to the objective on a horse because I value story more and don't care much for exploration. Personally I don't do that but there are a lot of people that do. What I'm trying to say is, story combined with everything else gives a different number of hours to each person because they all play differently.

It was meant to be dismissive. Not dismissive to Xetykins, so I hope neither of you got that impression. And I believe I qualified that statement RE Trespasser, anyway. But again, I will say - if someone beat JoH or Descent in 3-4 hours, they are either lying or they skipped more than half the content. If they skipped more than half the content, then complaining about how it's too short is dishonest. If you're the type of person who just plays quickly - I'm not talking about you. But I'll note that even if you're the type of person who plays quickly - if you play JoH with the aim to see everything it has to offer, you're not gonna shave 7-8 hours off the playtime. Maybe 2-3.
story combined with everything else gives a different number of hours to each person because they all play differently.
Again, the people I'm talking about are focusing on the story to the exclusion of everything else the DLC has to offer, possibly even skipping through the story, and then complaining it's too short. Their reasons are their own, but either way, it's dishonest and misleading.

It's weird because to me it seems that those who are unhappy with DAI didn't even buy JoH or Descent so I'm not sure who are these people that supposedly hate Bioware and DAI but still buy their DLCs just to prove they are short? It's been said these people exist but personally I never had any proof that it's true. But anyway, no harm done.

I've seen a few people on here who have railed against the main game, bought the DLCs, railed against the DLCs, bought the next DLC, complained ad nauseam. Not going to name them, because they're trolls and it's a one-way ticket to thread closure down that road, but be assured that they exist, even though they fly in the face of all logic and common sense.

Can't judge peeps if they're unhappy though and keep on buying dlcs hoping they're good and felt burnt.
I also railed against the main game. But oddly I enjoyed JoH. Not going to buy the armour pack because I think they're rip offs. And I hate the thought of starwars guns in descent so I'm skipping that too, anyway sounds like they're just pouring ungodly hp on the mobs to make it longer. I'm also deffo buying Trespasser because it looks gooood.
I'm very much hyped for the next TW3 dlc. If anyone can make fantastic dlcs it would be CDPR. I think.

It's actually the first "proper" dlc (paid) that they've ever made. That alone makes it interesting. Also:
I find even the trailers to be far better than the ones DAI has. Personal preference, of course.

"A Night to Remember" is the most op trailer, Imho. It really captured the tone of the game so beautifully. The music is haunting, beautiful and freaky.
I might've actually agreed with you on this if I didn't think that the " A Night to Remember" trailer represents the lore and setting of the world more than the game itself. Hope the rumors are true though and the creator of the trailer is indeed making a full cgi witcher movie. I'd gladly pay to see that.

Dunno how long it took me, but I think Trespasser is definitely worth it. And this is comin' from a guy that liver-shots Inquisition quite a lot. For good reason of course.

Well I don't think it represented any lore. I just thought personally that it captured the tone of a contract and also the gameplay starting from Black Blood potion, moondust bomb, quen, aard and fluidity of Geralt's combat movements. Even the trembling of the medallion and decap are there

I never watched that movie, but I loved that freaking game! I was convinced that game was going to jumpstart my career as a homicide detective. I would drive my mom insane with my musings into the killer's mind.
Me: That man is a cold blooded killer. I can smell it on him.
Mom: That's the postman.
Me: Or is he?
I was the greatest eight year old detective this world had ever seen.

Trespasser is an excellent dlc. Trespasser took me about 12 hours to complete and I still did not find all the quests, puzzles, gear and schematics. There were some mini-games that I also missed. Combat was good. Some of the enemies were tough. I have not tried any of the challenges yet. Unfortunately Bioware did not raise the level cap. So 27 is the max.
I like the fact that exploration is in the dlc, but it is not exploration for exploration sake. There is a definite purpose to the exploration The ending is very well done with a hint to future events. A very nice way to end DAI.
Clue is really fun movie!

I think with this DLC, Bioware showed us that they have been indeed listening to a lot of complains. Well....i personally felt that way with Trespasser.
