Whoever said about locking into a gameplay? Was Shepard locked? You still missed TmTapani's point by a mile btw.

Having said that, I would not want each and every game to have set protagonist. I would like some games to give me the choice to create my own gender for example. And you can totally have a great created character, DAO is a testament to that imho.

Anyway, if TW3 was not such an amazing game, I will never have played it because of the fixed male character. It would take all kinds of amazing for me to play these games, and TW3 is just that. But I still won't romance anyone there. I REFUSE TO!

You might change your mind in the DLC.

As much as I like Triss, Shani was a jewel in an ocean of sewage.

Am making the observation that freedom of choice for the Player can go beyond the Attributes, CC, etc; may also include paths like Alchemy, Signs, weaponry, etc. Generally, I prefer more options to less of them.

And our opinions do not equate to factual evidence that either game is amazing, as there are those that do not hold that same opinion from either of us.

Who cares about your opinion? I certainly don't. Specially when I HAVE played both games and you haven't, it automatically made your opinion on my opinion about how amazing TW3 is, null and void.

If you can't handle anyone giving praises to a game you refuse to play, that you have to try and wing clip those people asap, then this kind of bluntness is what you get.

You might change your mind in the DLC.

Unless Geralt suddenly becomes a woman and Shani a hunky manly man, then I don't think so :P Forever and proudly alone in this game.

Perhaps there are others a tad more open minded that do.

With the Keep - going forward - you don´t actually have to pay or play the DLC and if your still interested in the story details but don´t want to buy it just look it up on some channel.

But for those who want to experience the game, clicking choices on a website or watching someone else play isn't even close to the same thing. If I pour dozens and dozens of hours into a game, I don't want to hear about or watch second hand gameplay that leads to conclusions I helped initiate, I want to jump into it myself.

So your point is you want to experience/play the content, but you don´t want to pay for it? Kinda hard to find the point in that cloudcastle.

He's saying that he feels that they shouldn't charge for the content because he views it as a necessary story or that it shouldn't have been made/been the ending in the first place I guess.

I did pay for it. When I bought the game. Any conclusions tied to that game shouldn't be sold for more money later. I am not just speaking about additional dlc content and had you actually read the replies, you would know that.

Perhaps you think it is perfectly okay to piecemeal content that ties to the main story, I do not. I don't think it is an appropriate way to handle a story line or your customers. That isn't living in a cloudcastle, that is just an opinion on ethics.

Also, before it is said, I did buy Trespasser and I enjoyed it. It is a decent buy, but that doesn't alter my opinion that conclusions and companion quest consequences from the main game should be tied into paid dlc.

I think there's a difference between a conclusion and an epilogue but that's just me.

There is, but the conclusion to Solas and the Inquisitor and Iron Bull wasn't in an epilogue.

Fine and all, but you validated the practice by buying the content. And now you are rambling about a practice you yourself supported.

That´s running for cloudville mayorship.

It's the old " experience the REAL ending for only 9.99€ !" - thing that seems to emerge every now and then. It's fine if you later have ideas that expand the story of a game, but from what I've understood the whole Solas - situation in DAI was ended with a cliffhanger that has its ending in a paid dlc. Myself? I'd be furious if had any emotional, or financial, investment in the game.

Yes, because I clearly knew what the entire dlc was about. I knew the entire story line and all. Right before I purchased it, I thought, "Hey, I bet >insert spoilers< is going to happen and though I dislike the practice, I am going to support it anyway and just hope no one clever figures it out." Boy, you sure got me!

That´s fair, but the best thing is to wait and see if the drunken clown outside your house has a habbit of dropping his pants and breeding choccolate mambas on the floor before letting him in.

I simply read the preview info which includes this:

"Our final announcement today was of Trespasser, the final DLC for Inquisition. It's something we haven't tried before: an epilogue. Trespasser tells an entirely new story, set two years after the main game. The story explores what it's like to be a world-saving organization when the world no longer needs saving. It's a chance to meet and talk with old friends, to uncover a new threat, and ultimately decide the fate of the Inquisition you worked so hard to build. It might just contain hints about the future of Thedas, too"

This was posted well in advance of the DLC; seems to be factual.

True, especially if the drunken clown is EA.

I don't even know what this means, tbh.

Your point? I didn't read that and I am sure some others did, but beyond that--my point still stands. You shouldn't have to pay for a main game's conclusions. I liked Trespasser and I don't regret buying/playing it, that doesn't alter my opinion. If TW3's expansions do the same, I won't like that either. It's not really fair to have to pay for an epilogue/conclusion.
