I was just having a conversation with a friend who basically said this same thing. I do think it is a more of a subtle trailer, but that is what I actually like about it.
I hope the reviews inspire you to play and for my own sake I hope it is amazing. I think it will be. It seems intriguing.
We'll see. I think the trailer reminded me to much of those cheesy Mass Effect trailers Bioware used to do. Using Two Steps from Hell as the soundtrack etc, it cheapens it abit. I will probably buy it, but not hyped, yet. Really enjoyed the DA:I trailers for the DLC, they suffered from horrible animations, but the music and the dialogue queued correctly and it built up as the trailer went along. I did enjoy the scene with Geralt and Shani dancing though.
You already can and aside from the "dlc/expansion" crap-stirring from eurogamer, I've never ever seen a dlc that's got critics from the big ones to youtubers everywhere this hyped . You can even see an hour of gameplay on youtube if you want.
But, I guess if that trailer did nothing for you, no amount of good reviews will change that
Here's hoping Blood and Wine will tickle your fancy, specially if you're like me who bought the seasons pass. That would be boring if you hate them both.
I think The Witcher 3 is quite overhyped to be honest. Not saying it doesn't deserve its praise, but people treat it like its the messiah of videogames and RPG's, It doesn't do anything new compared to other games, it is just did what it did well and it is a polished game. But i won't get into that again. You guys heard me whine enough about it already.
Reviews and let's play videos might change my mind actually, often happens that i completely loathe a trailer or nothing it. But people turn me onto it sooner or later. There has been movies i didn't watch for 5 years because it had a lousy trailer, and then it turns out to be amazing. To be honest the only thing i want now is the Triss patch!
