Hopefully it will scale abit better during the game. Worgs in the start of the game can 2 shot you, and then later at the last bosses you can just faceroll them. Need something in between during the whole game, but at the same time feel yourself getting more powerful with gear and talents. Balance is always hard for games like these. Anyway we'll see, hoping it will scale abit better atleast.
I'm still fairly early into my DM play through and it's mobs that get me. Especially if something spawns in behind me. Making good use of yrden for CC is helping. Also I don't like to meditate too often if I can avoid it.
Find out soon enough I guess.
Also a review from a very popular french website:

It got an 18/20
Yes, in CDPR I trust, can't wait for heart of stone anymore!
That is why I bought the season pass already. I know it's risky anymore to pre-order, buy dlc without reviews, etc--but I have absolute trust in CDPR. They have never failed me yet and as long as they continue in this manner, their stuff will always be Day One.
Although CDPR has shown great precedent of rewarding trust in them, I still believe they have made pretty serious mistakes, namely the graphics downgrade.
I never pre-pay, no matter who, because I've been betrayed so many times in this industry, I just can't. I'll always be on my guard, even with CDPR.
Btw I'm not saying you shouldn't have bought the pass, from the early reviews of Hearts of Stone, it seems like it was a wise choice =p
Gah, you guys are killing me. I am too excited!
I just hope if they release the patch along with the dlc, it isn't too massive of a download. Since all that rain and storming that pelted the east coast, my internet is beyond slow.
Err... it's 15 gigs for consoles... the patch I mean... as in only the patch and not any dlc bundled with it.

Yeah, I am the same way. Mobs are rough on DM. Still, I have found that there is little in the gaming world as satisfying as dancing in the midst of three or four nekkers or drowners, picking your shots, and coming out of it unscathed. ![]()

I remember that things got a bit interesting with a dozen of them (a pack of nekkers and another of dogs). That's when I truly learned to appreciate the combat system in the game.

Well, **** me. I may get this thing downloaded by the time Cyberpunk comes out. I will definitely be avoiding this forum on the 13th, as it will most likely be the next day before it downloads. ![]()

I can't fault you for that point of view. I can certainly understand it. I don't agree with you about the mistakes, but if you feel like that, you're making a good choice by not letting your guard down. It's sad to have to be so cynical in an industry we love so much, but it is what it is, sadly.

They won my heart since TW2 (while DA2 did some real damage ...) , the EE is so awesome and free. Now I cant wait to see what they have planned for Fringilla! P.S. Shanni has grown a lot in DLC, I LIKE!
Glad to hear Shani's reappearance apparently doesn't disappoint. Looking forward to this.

Oh an RE discussion! I must confess I am a fairly casual fan of the RE series, having primarily just played RE4, but it was something always contemplated getting back into it with 5 at least, which seemed pretty cool. ![]()
Anyway I was going to comment on some of the issues like trying to quest and spotting a griffon outside that's way higher level or whatnot. Honestly that's just common in a lot of CRPGs generally, like it just has those moments where I'm just trying to like... fast travel outside of the isle and the sign has like 13 nekkers or drowners surrounding and it's grgh. Or sometimes I'm just trying to dismount off the horse to talk to a quest guy and I can't because there's a tent in the way or something, those kinds of little things.
I kind of expected that to a degree especially with big massive games like Skyrim/TW3 etc, there are just so many details and mob encounters and such it does tend to get out of hand to keep it all straight.

Oh, I suggest you get some of the earlier RE games and play them. If I am not mistaken, you can get Code Veronica on Xbox 360, though the controls will probably be atrocious. I really don't consider RE4 and beyond proper RE games.
As for TW3, I remember during my first playthrough feeling the same thing, but now it doesn't bother me at all. Now it seems quite reasonable, though I play on "Normal", so maybe it's a bit easier for me.
Patch 1.10 for TW3 has been announced as coming "later today".
Yes! With my terrible internet connection, maybe I can get it downloaded before the DLC comes out. Thanks for the heads up!

That could be pretty annoying, but i gotta admit that the only problem I have in the game is that damned stubborn horse, Roach. Just can't seem to take the straightest line to me. But having read a couple of the books where Geralt talked about trading her for a donkey or mule or something because she's too stubborn and primadonna, I thought it's a nice touch. Does not make it less annoying though.
