Oh, I suggest you get some of the earlier RE games and play them. If I am not mistaken, you can get Code Veronica on Xbox 360, though the controls will probably be atrocious. I really don't consider RE4 and beyond proper RE games. 

 

I'm a major fan of getting old games that I've missed primarily because they're often so cheap (and because I often can't find new ones to fill the gap) so perhaps I will.

 

As far as TW3 well one thing is  eventually power creep just kinda got rid of most of the issues with mob levels and stuff, although it was kind of fun to just be challenged at times. I don't actually remember what difficulty I'm on the one between normal and super hard I think. Although...

 

That could be pretty annoying, but i gotta admit that the only problem I have in the game is that damned stubborn horse, Roach. Just can't seem to take the straightest line to me. But having read a couple of the books where Geralt talked about trading her for a donkey or mule or something because she's too stubborn and primadonna, I thought it's a nice touch. Does not make it less annoying though.

 

..that said the horse remains... sort of reminds me of Epona a bit from Ocarina. I think the best horse I remember was probably the one from Twilight Princess that probably the best video game horse I can remember.

As for TW3, I remember during my first playthrough feeling the same thing, but now it doesn't bother me at all. Now it seems quite reasonable, though I play on "Normal", so maybe it's a bit easier for me.

Oh I still consider RE4 a proper RE game.  It changed the combat quite a bit it's true, but it managed to keep the feel of an RE game for me.  Once 5 came though it just started to feel like a generic shooter with monsters.  And 6...just ugggh.  

 

They have remastered RE1 and RE0 for the new gen consoles, and they have confirmed that they are gonna give RE2 the same treatment.  Can't wait for that one, is still my favorite of the series.

Instantly add? Not really sure. The games are alike, but yet so very different. I would fill the world with more interesting content, but then again i didn't want either TW3 or DA:I to be open world, every huge AAA game is open world now (SIGH). Cinematic conversations, better focus on sidequests and choice/consequences, Two protag approach, playing 90% as one and 10% as the other. Thats about it for me. I don't think DA:I would have had that much to gain from beeing more like TW3, but the next Dragon Age game needs to be better polished and go back to the roots of the franchise.

I don't know. With what I see on my rig right now and pre downgrade look pretty close on ultra and some parts better. But then I haven't been following this game at all til I bought it a month after release. That's probably why that did not affect me so much.

I followed the game, but didn't watch too many videos because wanted to avoid spoilers. Graphics look fine to me with everything on Ultra.

I feel they've improved the graphics a bit since release actually.

Anyway downloading patch now.

I JUST downloaded it it now. Psyched to continue on! I was at New York Comic Con all day, though, so that's not a bad problem to have.

 

It would seem that the patch somehow uninstalled or disabled the free DLCs though, and barred me from loading my game. I'm having to download all 600 mb of it again, which is a pretty annoying.

 

It also looks like you can't pick and choose which ones you want - it just installed all 16 (just one check box for everything) which is weird. Not bad, since I can toggle the dumb Triss and Yen outfits off, but still weird. That happen to anyone else?

Sorry tommy I haven't booted TW3 yet after the patches. I was soldiering on in dai to get to Alistair's bat cave and finally did it. Squeeee!. And that gave me the motivation to continue on to the Abyss quest at least.

Anyway the major things on the patches are for the waifus which I am not that interested in. I'll save that on my 3rd pt because i was watching xtalis'videos yesterday on the branching choices in tw3 and it's amazing the things that I missed. Like for example.

not helping Crach's children also has a nice outcome. Who wudda thunk that sometimes not doing anything is the best thing you could do. But it's hard not to help Crach, him being so nice to Ciri and all. This game is AMAZING!

By the way.. didn't the golden nug also make you change the skyhold jammies? How do I do that?

Same thing for me on the Xbox One. I loaded the game and I was in my underwear and my wolf gear has gone. Freaking sucks because I haven't done either "master" quest yet. Bleh

Reinstalling the DLC and then reloading your game should fix it. I'm surprised you even managed to load the game at all - it wouldn't let me.

It let me in the game with out any issue, I have had a couple hiccups, though. Sometimes the loading screens take longer than ususal to load and once I had to restart the game. And once it took a texture a while to load. I was talking toTriss and she had no eyebrows. It wasn't a pleasant chitchat. It's like when sometimes I read people's lips and they grow uncomfortable and look at everything in the room but me. Awkward.

Other than that, it has been good. I've already met up with Triss and now I am just wrapping up missions before Tuesday.

Does anyone, people who know some spoilers, know when the best time to play the dlc is? For instance, after Kaer Morhan, or after the major plots in Skellige --that sort of thing.

Apparently, the 2 dlcs aren't connected to the main game. I guess you could start it whenever after lvl 30.

When I patched my game, all the free DLC was zapped. I had to redownload and reinstall all 16 of them. And it didn't let me pick and choose - there was just one checkbox for everything. Again though, this is PC via GOG Galaxy client. I don't know how the ps4 or Xbone interface work.

Amber, did you just try reinstalling the DLC and reloading your last save from before the patch? I feel like that should work no problem.
