I don't think you can release a hotfix on console, can you? Because of their certification requirements?
I've read that it's possible, but most developers don't find it cost-effective. Console users likely will have to wait until the next patch drops to see a fix, and that's some weeks off. See discussion here.

My whole thing is - I wanna go revisit old times with Shani, but not after locking it in with Triss (or Yennifer, in my eventual NG+). I'm no cheater.
Which means we're just gonna have a brodown in this particular game. Gonna be tough to hit 62 without going through most of the other stuff, including the Skellige/Novigrad arcs though.
On story and sword ( or something that's next to story only) which is what I am on, you can start at 59 I think.
Btw this xp is amaaaazing so far. Voice acting is really something else.

And I am hearing such fantastic things about how awesome HoS story is and it is making it hard not to play it right away.
Nah, you both might be right. I think that stuff might jump around a bit based on which difficulty you're playing on.
I guess if I want a challenge, I could try doing it early. I somehow managed to swing a level 35 contract at 22. Or I could resort to the sort of cheating I have no compunctions about (at least, none on subsequent playthroughs, after I've "done my time" the right way, so to speak).
It's all academic, since at 32, I'm likely gonna breeze through it on my first playthrough.

Gods damn it, now I'm seriously reconsidering my decision to wait for the second expansion to come out before doing my first playthrough. The waiting is hard enough as it is without release dates being pushed back.
Or you could choice to open a new geralt just for the Expansion you know. It is in start menu.

Don't wait, this expansion brings so many AWESOME characters into play. The main story demonstrates so complex human nature and corresponding emotional conflicts of a lot amazing characters. Most of them are as good as blood baron. Shani is almost as independent and brave as Yenna, both of them put the other (fake) red head in shame.

In short, yes, many new armors and weapons, I have not finished all side quests but only the major story line but my geralt has got three brand new set of armors already, not included the viper witcher gear set.
As for triss, sorry, she is so shallow compared to Shani. It is such a shame player could not choose between Shani and Yenna, they are both independent and capable enough to be recognized as Geralt's "true love".
