I have yet to reach the expansion. Restarted my playthrough from scratch so I am getting there. Slowly.
In other news:
TW3 just won the Golden Joystick Award in following categories.
Best Storytelling
Best Visual Design
Best Gaming Moment
Studio of the Year
Ultimate Game of the Year
Congrats! Well deserved.
Good guys dont have to finish last, they can finish first. Who would have guessed. The players have spoken. ![]()
Congratulation CDPR and I hope that more studios and publishers will be inspired by your success. ![]()

I tried to make a "goggles, they do nothing" joke in response to this but every attempt fell flat.
No, they appear to do nothing. I guess they're good for looking like the goofy antagonist who wore them in the first game. Obviously, I'm gonna keep them on for the rest of HoS.
You get a like just for trying on that particular joke. ![]()

DAI/Witcher debate aside, it's good to see an RPG win big.
It's a strange time for gaming though.. everyone and their mom in the industry wants to pimp out mobile and VR, and I'm afraid where these bigger experiences are going to fit in the future. Even Kojima and Konami parted ways...despite MGS being a success. These companies just want to make the same money, but with less effort (and more titles). And it's hard to blame their logic. Thank for god for relatively humble devs from Poland. I didn't see that coming.

Agree with you on this. As an avid rpg fan, I'm happy with the result and not some shooter. And DAI won last year so rpg is still very much alive.

The difference is, Golden Joystick is more player driven awards. I think DAI is more split.
But I get your point. ![]()

I don't think DAI got golden stick for best game last year, also competition in 2015 is so much more stronger (e.g. Bloodborne, MGS V, GTA V pc etc.). Hence TW3's victory is especially impressive.

But it won the year's award. Let us not deminish. But I agree with you, i thought msg is going to take the bulk of it for a more established and older fan base.

DAI did not made it in time to compete in last year's Golden Joystick award. It is actually competing this year. Hence it is competing against TW3, Bloodborne, MGSV, etc.
Personally I dont think MSGV should stand any chance in this years award. Imagine what would happen if it won. I mean I am pretty sure that Konami being the mad dog company they are would probably sue Golden Joystick for mentioning or inviting Kojima to the awards. ![]()

For some reason, DAI is listed as the 2015 DICE GOTY recipient; Last Of Us is listed as 2014. See here for more info:

It is because it is released in November. It has been like that for a long time.
Also, Dragon Age Inquisition actually is the runner up for Best Visuals after TW3.

Now we watch and wait what outrageous things CDPR could come up with to thank their fans. Free goty edition updrade complete with hours and hours of added content and all dlc free, is totally not out of the question.
I smell a Witcher 3: Enhanced Edition.

You mean for these Golden Joystick Awards? Believe this was indicated on another thread, too.
As for the next DICE Awards, am curious as to the nominees, as I do not have a known title in the hunt until X-COM 2 appears.

Is it me or have they used the wrong picture for DA:I there?
Next DICE awards will be from titles released this year. Since X-Com 2 will be out in feb, 2016, they might win the DICE 2017 or so.

Oh yeah. Didnt realize you were talking about the DICE award. But I suppose it is normal for games that release in November and December to be contending in the coming year.
edit:
I suppose launching a game close to the year end holiday season will boost sales but reduce your chances of winning awards - unless the game is loved by many and has lots of replay value. Bethesda usually launch their games in November. TES & Fallout series and wins the game of the year award the following year; Skyrim & Fallout 3.

The banner is correct, but the image for the category is from DA2, I believe.

Since MGSV is the last MGS from Kojima, it is a good competitor for the best game title. But I don't think it's open world has quality close to TW3.
