I smell a Witcher 3: Enhanced Edition.

I wish. TW3 needs it, frankly. But most of the team is now on Cyberpunk and the rest are working on Blood and Wine. An EE seems unlikely.

I think the improvements and changes seen in patches is the closest we are getting to an Enhanced Edition. Which is a shame in my opinion. Act 3 needs a story overhaul, and the Wild Hunt needs a bigger place in the story. Won't happent hough.

That'd be awesome if they could, and restore some of the things they'd liked have done if time permitted. Probably all hands on deck for Cyberpunk though after B&W ships, but who knows, they've surprised us before I guess.

If an Enhanced edition could come with the real Redkit editor as well, that'd awesome.

Now we watch and wait what outrageous things CDPR could come up with to thank their fans. Free goty edition updrade complete with hours and hours of added content and all dlc free, is totally not out of the question.

Probly not.  Looking forward to a GOTY edition for when I get my PS4 this year.

You never know.  They have said that they plan on supporting TW3 for like...a year or two.  Now, that might just mean patches and the like but we can hope.

I just finished HoS tonight as well. It really was very good. I liked Olgierd a lot, and for whatever reason, I found his and Iris' story nuanced and moving in all the ways the bloody baron's wasn't.

My current takeaway is that if any of these awards outfits come out with a "best redheads" category, CDPR definitely deserves to win over all other developers I can think of.

Lol. The animation designers has a thing for red heads. Even Triss who was chestnut became red.

Btw did you go back to vlod's tomb?

Nope, Old Lady Vegelbud's mansion and Whoreson Junior's estate broke me of that habit pretty good. I guess I should.

Is the spin off book series really canon, though?

Besides, I was talking about Olgierd.

There's nothing in particular to set it apart from most RPGs apart from the combat (maybe), which is full action (but essentially, so is Fallout). What makes it pretty good is the fact that it succeeds so admirably at the many things it attempts. I think the custom protagonist approach is far superior to the witcher's approach overall, but I can scarcely conceive of Fallout being as polished and functional at release as TW3 seems to have been. I'm not going to say that it definitely won't, but I have near twenty years of history with Bethesda's games, and I don't think they've ever released anything without ten gamebreaking issues present. Which isn't to say they're not great (end of the day, I still prefer Skyrim modded to my specifications to... most things, including the witcher). In any case, I assume FO4 will bring much more extensive modding capability, which goes a heckuva long way.

Though frankly, I don't really know where you're going with your questions. Are you that worried that we're gonna have two great games at the end of the year?

Witcher you could play on day one and get the full (good) experience. Bethesda games on the other hand should not be bought and played until at least a minimum of six months have passed. That's the absolute minimum time modders need to fix the game, again, and add features that should have been in it from launch. I'm not kidding, that has been true for all of the Bethesda open world RPGs that have come out during the last decade. I've never seen a developer more reliant on the community to make their games popular. And working. I can only pity the ones playing them on consoles.

And that's just on the technical level. They are quite infamous for their poor writing and quests as well. Fallout 4 will be no different. Witcher on the other hand has already won awards for those (writing and quests I mean). And that was in a direct competition against, among others, DAI.

On the other hand, a new Bethesda game is like a blank canvas. I can't think of any other major developer who gives the players leave to modify the games so extensively, which is unambiguously a good thing. Though the one is probably a symptom of the other. At least consoles might get mods now (although I can't imagine the scene is going to be great).

I really like all the storylines in Skyrim.

Is there anything other than TW books could be considered as canon?  :P

The games and their various outcomes aren't?

In my canon, Ciri is basically a witcher, and late in his witchering career, Geralt got a damn haircut and became monogamous to a fault. Seeing as those things are explicitly supported by the game (which are, as some have assured me, explicitly a continuation of the books), I don't see how putting Olgierd in the running for best redhead isn't completely valid. He seems like he's one of the best redheads. Stiff competition, obviously.

The author doesn't actually consider the games canon. Or at least that's what I've heard. If there ever will be a continuation to the Witcher books, by him, the events of the games will be ignored. (To be honest I've got the impression that Sapkowski is actually rather pissed about the games and what CDPR has done to the story.)

Not too pissed to cash those royalty checks, I imagine. I actually think he could stand to be a bit more gracious, considering the games seem to have given him quite a bump, and that there's a whole continent or two of people who might never have heard his name otherwise.

For my part, the little bit I've delved into the books has left me with the impression that the property is much better off in CDPR's hands - much like Star Wars is better off in Bioware's hands than George Lucas', or any given Bob Dylan song is better off in the hands of... nearly anyone else.

Sorry, but that does not appear to be correct. Console players for Skyrim did not have to wait for mods or months. And I personally played 700+ hrs on Vanilla PC with a single appearance mod during that time. And I was not exactly alone; see within for details:

It's not incorrect, though. Bethesda games have always been a hot mess at release, at least since Daggerfall, which is when I started buying 'em. YMMV, let the buyer beware, and so forth.

I've got like like 70-80 hours logged on the xbox and 400-500 on the PC, and I've encountered all sorts different problems on both platforms. My partner has encountered different, weirder problems, again on both platforms. Still think it's one of the best games ever, but clean and tidy it ain't.

Edit: To enjoy a quiet chuckle at the expense of PS3 Skyrim players. You should consider asking them how their experience was.

And I pity you for that. The experience you've had has been inferior to what it could have been. I'm not saying that you couldn't have enjoyed it though.

LOL, in better hands? In terms of what? Switching Yenna as Triss, Ciri as Alvian in TW1? Or push Geralt into his nightmare - political nonsense in TW2 and 3 (with fake red head ending)? No offense, CDPR did wonders with TW game series but by no means they could compare to the creator of TW world.  P.S. Season of Storms is almost translated into English!

Enjoyed those, and then a total of 2100+ hrs with mods included. But Skyrim is my first and only Bethesda game thus far; hoping to see more like it when TES VI appears.
