1. Character models. Pc and npcs look like plastic dolls. Not nearly as good as vanilla Skyrim and those were bad enough.

2. Animations. They have barely improved at all from previous Fallouts. The movement animations for the power armor were especially hilarious.

3. Braindead AI. For example the player walked right next to a raider who was shooting at a different target. No reaction. Player went away and wandered around the building for minutes until the enemy finally noticed him and attacked. Hell, initially I though the raider had just been a friendly npc.

4. Dialogue. Hmm, how to best explain that...

                                                                     Y: Minigun?

                                         X: Sarcastic                                     B: Yes

                                                                     A: No

5. World looked quite empty. Player walked for quite a while and encountered only one small random enemy. Could be because of the area in question though. Mind you, I've also watched a guy sprint from one edge of the map to the other and he was attacked only about 3 times.

6. Overall the game failed to impress. Hard. A step back from Skyrim in many areas I'd say. There were a few interesting gimmicks like the power armor but the game didn't seem like a late 2015 title at all. More like 2010 or something. Obviously I only saw someone else play it for a limited amount of time so keep that in mind. It might still end up being good.

Interesting, maybe i'll wait a while and take a good look at reviews and some gameplay footage. Nonetheless thank you for the info!

Don't be silly, you didn't say anything out of line, at all. I have mentioned it previously, so I just assumed most knew, the fault is mine.

I must admit that I haven't seen a tremendous amount of footage and gameplay. I saw a few things and upon finding out I was getting it in December, I stopped watching a lot of media on it, as not to get spoiled. My hype is not full blown, but I am excited to try something new.

I think you will enjoy it, for what it's worth.  Well, I think so, from what I was reading about TmTapani was saying it seems we might have some cause for concern.  Still, they have spent seven years on this game, and it's Bethesda, so part of me still believes the game will deliver.  All in all, I am glad that I am not gonna be getting it day 1 on release.  Will sit back and see what people are saying about it when it comes out.

And i got the Fallout 4 ending smacked in my face. Was taking a break from TW3 and visiting the Bethesda forum, it is sort of second nature by now to always check the forums during break time. And some guy just posted it all over the place, made some threads, whispered people etc. I saw it, and got him banned, but it was to late. Not sure if its a lie or not, but it sort of fits the theme of the game. Its a greaaaaaat day!

Dai people said the same things about w3 being subpar prerelease. Skyrim on xbox 360 was a much better game than dai released years later. It was game of year so lets not rewrite history of mids making the game
Theres very few good steam mods abd the better ones were ported recently due to changes in size requirements

I hope it was at least a good ending! How on earth are people playing this already? Does it not have an activision online or something?

It has on PC via Steam, but on console its already open for play. So people have had their game for a few days now, since Thursday or something. So they rushed the story and then spoiled it for alot of people, because fun? Not sure what they get out of it.

Oh not cool. I'd probably blow up if they'd do the same for Andromeda. I don't mind minor spoilers here and there but not the whole ending.

It especially sucks for those who are huge fans of the series, the ending is definitely one of those special moments where you don't want it spoiled. I'm staying away from the Bethesda forums for now. I remember some of the Witcher ending was spoiled for me before I beat it, but thankfully not all of it though.

I know i should be mad, but i am just sad. I know it sounds silly, but this game actually means something to me. Well atleast i will be playing it soon and i don't know much else about the game. The journey can still be great.

God, that blows. I can't stand people who do crap like that. I have a friend who can't help himself. He really isn't being malicious, he just can't handle knowing something no one else does. People can be so funky. Sorry that happened to you. :/

I just finished another TW3 playthrough and deliberately went for the saddest ending for the hell of it. Man.

That has to be the most miserable outcome in any game ever. No competition.

Thats why golden joystick is the only GOTY really counts. Players' votes are crucial.

Thats the guy that played the game for 10 hours in one week and broke review embargo with Bethesda? Yeah not trusting that review in a million years. Anyway i don't really care about maisntream reviews, they are just following general opinion, which is bad. A game needs to be analyzed in every core aspect and you need to talk about the structure of everything. No reviewer like IGN, Eurogamer or whomever does this, because they don't like delving deep enough. Glad we get Youtube reviewers etc now.

The Golden Joystick doesn't work, as i said in my review post here. It again follows the mainstream opinion, and for RPG's that is not a good thing. RPG is for a niche market, and it needs to have experienced reviewers and analyzers checking out the game and really finding its worth. This years golden boy game is  TW3, and there is nothing wrong with that, but 90% of the people that bought the game didn't play TW or TW2 and have no interest in the lore or anything. But there are players in this very thread that is an exception to that rule, and i am glad of it. But if i talk to someone at school about The Witcher, they are talking about violence and boobs, and thats pretty much it.

Lets be fair, not reviewer could ever produce an objective review that covers every perspectives of a game. So I put the "first" in front of it not the "best". As for FO4 I could not wait to see it for myself, yet I'm not 110% as hyped as FO3's release.

But 10 hours? In a game that has a few hundred hours of content. He has to atleast make the effort to really play the game, and not whine about it like he does. Constructive criticism. Its just a poorly written review overall. Objective reviews don't exist, which is why its stupid. Your reading about someone's opinon of the game instead of giving it a go yourself. Some reviews manage to mention the functions of the game, but mostly its just how and what they feel about something. I never really read a good review of TW3, not from a professional site, but i've read alot of good opinions in this very thread which i value alot more.

10 hours? Why do people everywhere keep saying that he has played the game for only 10 hours? It is written in the article itself that he has at least 20 hours of playtime. It was at the 10 hour mark when he started wondering when something interesting was supposed to happen.

direct quote:

"As I was picking my way through an abandoned brewery somewhere in the wastelands about 10 hours into the game, I blurted out, "When is something interesting supposed to happen?" I was bored, even after running through a few of the main story quests. "This is the hill I'm going to die on," I thought then. "Fallout 4" has very dedicated fans, and I imagine the reaction to these statements won't be particularly positive."

and another:

"After 20 or so hours, when you've got a nice set of perks and a decent arsenal to complete some of the bigger quests with, the story does get a bit more interesting, but I'm not confident saying that the payoff is worth the investment."

Not defending the guy or his (quite worthless IMHO) review but at least the criticisms against him should be real and not imaginary.

100% agree with that.  Mainstream reviewers are just worthless nowadays.  Not just for the fact that they don't dig in deep enough as you mentioned, but their relationships with developer's are often to close.  Mainstream media and developers have been two tightly bound entities for quite some time.  I have a few Youtubers that I watch and trust quite a bit, people who honestly believe in being advocates for the consumers.
