Iorveth doesn't die. He can get seriously wounded by Phillipa. The fact that CDPR isn't bringing him back makes me hate them more than the gates of hell. Ok, bit of an exaggeration but after TW3 I'm convinced they have no desire to ever extend side characters in a meaningful way beyond one game. The only character they really did it with was Geralt.

Agreed, and then it doesn't really feel like sequels anymore. Which is my problem with TW3, it feels like a stand alone game, and it shouldn't.

The Witcher 3 took GOTY at The game awards, and two other prices. Nicely done :)

Hah.. I'm genuinely surprised.. Witcher beat FO4 on the those awards tonight.

All of the love given to them is good for RPGs at the very least.

You are? Well i am not, or maybe abit. But i had the feeling all year really. It has been in the press ever since released and it did well overall, gotten great praise both by gamers and media outlets. Fallout 4 had more of a struggle.

I'm not. FO4 is Bethesda's lowest rated game, from fans and critics. But beating out Bloodborne and Metal Gear is no small feat.

Yeah.. I was really thinking the attention span wore off or something by this point.

That's cool though.

Gratz to CDPR and TW3 - GOTY, DOTY!  :wizard:

...

Somehow I dont feel excited after watching the show live... I feel angry.... I feel like I need to shove a Fat Boy up Konami's @!#@#$@#. WTF - legally blocking Kojima from attending the awards and accepting awards!!! WTF Konami.

Even if you can't, I assume you're still a fantasy RPG/adventure fan. This was pretty good example of the genre-- and made by people in Eastern Europe, a pretty young industry still, without all of "wonderful" ideas publishers eventually do to their games to screw them up. And it came at a time when Konami canned Kojima, got loved for MGS, and still dissed it for favor of more profitable smallscale ventures (and it's a direction the industry as a whole is in danger going towards in general). Something like this sets people straight.

Somehow I like Jade Raymond more for that bad joke about David Hayter. No offense to Kiefer.

I'm actually convinced she's the real gamer she always said she was... just for being a smartass :P

She works for EA now :o What is she working on? And can her smile be any more wide?

She's working with Amy Hennig right now on the Star Wars stuff.. but is opening her own division after that. All to be new properties apparently.

Thats the Visceral game right? Has to be Star wars 1313 picked up and polished. Get her on a Bioware game after this. Do it!

Yeah, Visceral.. although I don't know if it's 1313 or not.

You don't want my opinion on Bioware, I'm sure :P Lets just say I think Amy Hennig is better than everyone there. I don't know about Raymond.. she's more of a producer.

Visceral should have had the chance to finish the Dead Space franchise though. The last DLC for DS3 was amazing, and then it just ended, and no more :(

Wait, scratch that. I'm still a Sheryl Chee fan. Have her and Amy work together.

How Patrick Weekes is leading this series, I don't know. And I think Kirby moved with Gaider to whatever they're working on.

Kirby went with Gaider yes. New IP, which is abit dissapointing. They should do Kotor III, because Gaider = awesome. He wrote HK-47, much love. Sheryl is a good writer, and Patrick showed some good stuff with Trespasser. I think the future is bright.

I don't like Patrick Weekes.

And he's such a phony person too. Getting all progressive now, when he used to talk sexist **** on some boards back in the day. Then he gets credit for Jack, who he didn't even create. And talked crap about her too when he was given the job.. and hoped people would kill her.

Now he goes to universities and displays Iron Bull, like it's a literary achievement.

No, the future is not bright.

Don't really know anything about him. Just that he wrote Solas and most of the Elven lore in DA:I, and most of it was quite awesome. I do think Gaider is the father of Dragon Age though. I am prone to hero worship though.

That lore was already there, I think. Most of these settings - and I believe DA - has a sort of bible. Of course, he has to tap into it.. I'll give him credit there.

Except I don't care about monomyths and how the world was created. Same with the real world. I've grown weary of it in most fantasy. I like the stuff on the street and the politics. There's less writers doing Lies of Locke Lamora and more trying to do their version of Tolkien.

Thanks for bearing with me though. I'm probably being too ornery.. ;)

I understand. I just find lore way more interesting than anything else, reading codex in games is a hobby of mine. Lies of Locke Lamora? Not heard of this book! Buying it, and soon reading it.

No problem, i find your insight and opinion to be valueable. And it was nice with some off/on-topic chat again.
