Amy Hennig is a goddamn giant. I've never played any of the Uncharted games that she had a hand in (haven't had the proper console the last couple of generations - really want to though), but her work in Legacy of Kain marks her as one of the best writers working in the business, full stop.
When I heard that she was at EA working on Star Wars, I did a jig.
Completey unrelated to this thread and others matters, I was just going back and watching Soul Reaver trailers for fun yesterday or today or something, because I had good memories back when I played 1 and 2, however, it was surprising to see they didn't really strike me...
I realized though overall whatever Soul Reaver 1 and 2 were, the original Blood Omen was much better. Once I really played more than just a bit of Blood Omen I realized that's where most of the stuff came from and those were the things in SR1 and 2 I enjoyed most of all.
Although I am compelled to ask how this relates to TW3...
Ah! Maybe have more genuine anti-heroic bloodthirsty vampire characters? In all seriousness the thing about Blood Omen is it reminded me of what a genuine anti-hero type of character was, nowadays with so many edgelord rip-offs everywhere it's hard to remember what the real thing was like in the first place. They already have used Simon Templeman for all kinds of stuff, may as well.
As for TW3 winning, completely expected on my part, the VGAs are kind of like the Oscars but more wary, instead of having like a "foreign language" category, they'll go so far as to give the award to the Polish company as like a "feel good" story and to convince people Bethesda or whatever isn't just this permanent frontrunner... unless of course that's exactly what some people seem to notice. Anyway, someone like them will be sure to win next year.
Basically, they're trying to really hard to make it a "thing," and it's precisely because they're trying so hard I can't really say I care all that much... Besides it's absurd considering all the Japanese games and developers where it would be pretty far to travel and yet are (still) kind of the developers of many modern video games.
