Unfortunately, TV series are mostly based on director's imagination instead of source material. So yeah, one could hope.

There is a rumor going on, that CD Projekt Red wants to publish Cyberpunk 2077 late 2016. Though i'm pretty sure that won't happen.

Spring 2017 is more likely. Late 2016 might be the target but they will delay the launch a few times. As they should. Long gone are the days when most devs launched their games when they were confident in them. Nowadays the publishers pretty much dictate the release dates. Developer independence is worth a lot today.

Wait, what? According to the same source Sony or Microsoft likely trying to get exclusivity to Cyberpunk 2077? That'll be the day if they succeed. Still, not long ago there were rumors of EA trying to buy CDPR. I wouldn't put it past them to try something like that.

Off please no exclusivity deals ever! I do not think they will do that though. It is not very cdpr-like. And to this day, I don't think Bioware has gone that route either, which is nice. But given how cp seems to be an extreemly hot commodity, specially after the success of TW3, I do not doubt there are some pretty hefty offers on the table. Hefty enough that CDPR I hope will not succumb to the temptation.

 

I think a lot of disappointed fans will come after them with pitchforks and boycott the game like rise of the tomb raider. It did not even sell 500k

But given how cp seems to be an extreemly hot commodity, specially after the success of TW3, I do not doubt there are some pretty hefty offers on the table. Thing is, they already had an exclusivity deal with Microsoft. On marketing. With both TW2 and TW3. From what I understand Microsoft wanted exclusive game content for Witcher 3 as well but had to settle for physical goods (gwent cards) instead as CDPR wanted every buyer to have the same in game experience regardless of platform. Hard to imagine they'd give in to Microsoft now when they are financially more stable than ever.

Pure BS. They already said they won't even talk about it til 2017. Also, 'talk of a pc release'....lol. PC is a lock for all their games. For those interested, Adam Skorupa, one of the key composers for the series is considering a fund raiser to create more witcher inspired music. I'm just going to chalk this rumor under the "Definitely Not Happening" category. I just can't see CDPR, who pride themselves on independence and quality rushing this game, especially since recently it was announced that it was much more ambitious than when it originally began. I really can't see them signing any exclusivity deal with MS or Sony, I doubt they want to waste those ten years of building goodwill to be lost on just one game. Honestly, this is all probably just a baseless rumor and we probably won't even hear anything about Cyber Punk until next year, TGAs at the earliest.

JOH was timed-exclusivity. Or do you mean permanent exclusivity?

Kotor, Jade Empire and Mass Effect were all Xbox exclusives and then ported to PC later, and eventually PS3 for Mass Effect.

Ahh I did not play ME series til early this year so I guess I did not know. And JoH? I forgot about the timed exclusivity. But then again it's not hard for me to forget about DAI these days.

Well, I watched a let's play walkthrough of it and enjoyed it, but didn't feel the need to then play it myself. It felt a little out of character for Geralt to be doing wedding pranks, bank heist, painting diving, even though the mechanics looked fun. It seemed like Citadel DLC, where it's a fun adventure for the player but you really have to squint to make it gel with the base game.
