Those screenies are beautiful!

The lack of environmental diversity in TW3 is a thing for me (granted, not a huge thing by any means), but what I really, really wanted was more of Kaer Morhen, because it was so knock you on your ass lovely. It was so verdant. And there's no shortage of really lovely locations in the base game either - some of the pastoral scenery in the eastern portion of the Novigrad/No Man's Land section for example, is just beautiful. But none of them really beat a sunny day in Kaer Morhen, at least in my opinion.

These screenshots are doin' it for me, let's just say. I like the greenery, I like the architecture, I like the colors, and I'm probably gonna start my NG+ this weekend.

First screens from Blood and Wine

Damn, that's lovely.

You really should get HoS. I a way, the experience is tighter than the main game and the writing is fantastic. And... it's got the Von Everec brothers :)

Absolutely. The writing in The Witcher 3 has been pretty stelllar all around (the Bloody Baron stuff is the first thing that comes to mind) and Hearts of Stone continues that trend. Plus, Shani is really awesome.

Err.. besides the pointy Germanic structures.

Off please no exclusivity deals ever! I do not think they will do that though. It is not very cdpr-like. And to this day, I don't think Bioware has gone that route either, which is nice. But given how cp seems to be an extreemly hot commodity, specially after the success of TW3, I do not doubt there are some pretty hefty offers on the table. Hefty enough that CDPR I hope will not succumb to the temptation.

I think a lot of disappointed fans will come after them with pitchforks and boycott the game like rise of the tomb raider. It did not even sell 500k

ME and Jade Empire were exclusive at first at least.. Without plans of them moving elsewhere at first.

Oh yeah Jade Empire. I got it on Xbox first. I will always have good memories of that game since it was my first BW game (and really first rpg tbh. Played mostly jrpgs before then).

Oh, that's where it is. Makes sense why I said Germany and Italy both. :D

Well. It kind of look like Mont Saint-Michel with some influence from various Château.

I just noticed that. Sweet.

It showed up on Origin for free, so I downloaded it. I think it's still there if anyone hasn't played it.

Origin is PC only right? I only have a PS4 for games, sadly.

Yeah.. JE will run on old PCs though, if you're posting from one.

If you have a PC, might as well grab it. It costs nothing to sign up, and if your PC is from the last couple of years, it'll run it.

I bought it and MDK2 on Steam sale a week ago and then a few days later it's free on Origins.

I never played MDK2 before, it should be fun.

Never actually played MDK2.. I played the first, but that wasn't Bioware. It sort of reminded me of an old Sega title.. Space Harrier.

After Kotor, I got into older Bioware games.. but never really was a fan of NWN. Just the BGs.

Risking a digression - anyone know how well JE will play with a 360 pad? Does it support it?

I'm also considering picking up a steam controller at some point, and I'm wondering how well it would really work. Like, for DAO for example.

I have no idea.. I haven't even tried using my 360 pad on the PC.

I'll say though that it's fine without it. It still kind of follows the classic combat system that sets up queues and such.

I'm posting from work right now, but might try it on my laptop at home. I don't have high hopes of it working, though. The laptop is on its last legs and I mainly use the iPad now for personal computing.

The good part is that if you redeem JE, you'll have it forever. So if you install Origin, log in (the credentials are the same as this site, so you already have an account) and grab the game, it doesn't matter if your laptop dies. It'll be there whenever you get a new one.

I just prefer controllers in most cases, save for like, RTS (which I haven't really even played in years). My PC is in my living room, with a hook up to my TV. I can and do play with KBM, it means resting them on a spare piece of chipboard on my lap and snaking the wires all over the place, which is a little annoying.

I'm willing to bet it'll work. Since it was first released on the original Xbox, which is basically ancient Pentium 3 specs.

You'd think it would, but it doesn't always, which is silly. Oblivion and Morrowind don't, for example. Or KoTOR, for that matter. And I have Pinnacle Game Profiler, but that's reliably twitchy and annoying.

Hell, the ME trilogy doesn't even support a gamepad on PC, which is mystifying to me.

According to test conducted a minute ago, JE Special Edition on Origin works just fine with an Xbox360 controller.

EDIT: was a bit of a mess because I ran right into a large fight without a clue of button mapping. Good times.

Thanks!

I am... actually really excited. I had JE on the original Xbox, and it's the only Bioware game I've played but never completed for whatever reason.
