That one quest you mentioned is the same one that I often use to describe my feelings with DA:I's side content. It really sums it up rather well.
I cant really recall that one in detail but... Is that even a quest? Tis just a loot spot right?
Get key go loot?
I believe there are 2 type of writing style. One is that the writer is writing a story for us to experience and the other the writer is writing -HIS/HER- own story and telling that story or rather forcing that story down our faces. The first form of writing makes great games, the second makes for a disconnected game at best if not down right frustrating. The second form of writing is more suitable for books.
In TW series, particularly in TW2. I feel that my hands are tied because the characters have very different motive and they want to use Geralt/Us to help them accomplish their goals. They will bait Geralt by telling him that by helping them accomplish their interest, Geralt will also fulfill his. I know that they dont want to help me, they want to use me -but- I can use them back by helping them just enough to advance my own agenda.
In DAI... the feeling of my hands being tied is there as well. Except this time I am not fighting against characters in the game. I am fighting against the writer himself.
Truth be told, I am happy that Gaider is no longer the lead writer of DA and I hope the next writer will bring more of DAO's writing style back. If Gaider is so intense on telling his story, I wish he would just write books. Good book writers dont make good game writers.
