You're understating some events there. This man (husband) had been summoned to war repeatedly, over the course of years. During which time his wife, had taken a lover, that she was with for years. He discovered this the day he returned and found her gone, taking their daughter, leaving only a note. Stating that she didn't love him and had taken their child.

At which point he goes to bring them back, but when he sees her lover, he states something turned in him, something dark and he slaughters her lover. Then she attacks him, grabs a knife and tries to kill him, this is the first time he hits her.

What follows is a cycle of mutual abuse. both being the responsible party. Over the next few years she tries several times to kill herself and him, goading and taunting him. He get's drunk and lashes out, hitting her and smashing objects, likely partially fueled with a constant jealousy.

Didn't she also falsely accuse him of the miscarriage as well?

That name, makes me think about Istredd. Bastard. I think it was Sword of Destiny? A Shard of Ice? The short stories are all great, but that one, "the Lesser Evil", the one where Geralt reunites with Ciri and the one where he thinks Yen and Triss are dead after the battle of Sodden Hill (?) are my favorite

I mostly removed from my memory the one with Little Eye because it was way too sad :crying:

"A Shard of Ice" indeed, Istredd still has my vote, Yenna is way too great for Geralt. :P

Little eye is my favourite as well, but Cahir's story is way way way too sad.

I don't think so.  The miscarriage was, I thought, a part of her deal with the Crones.  Could be wrong about that though.  Even if I am though, I remember that she did not want that child at all.

It was because of the Crones, but the Baron was unaware of that. He thought he was the reason behind Anna's miscarriage. I don't think it's explicitly stated whether Anna told him this, or he just assumed that was the case, however.

Now i'm kinda pissed. Took me one week to set up a heavily modded Skyrim, spent the last 2 hours admiring it with awe-struck eyes and now they tell me Blood and Wine is coming out the 30th? Talk about wasted time :P NG+ i'm coming!

She tried to hang that one on the baron's neck just for kicks by leaving the bloody fetus on his bed. As far as I care, they are a nasty match made in heaven. A traumatized war vet whos gone looney and a cheating wife.

Yeah I think one of the themes in TW3 was that like "everyone" was kinda having some issues. Some more serious than others, but nonetheless.

Not sure what's in Nici's picture since isn't coming through, but it looks like some aspects of the previously discredited leak are true, as far as the vineyard is concerned. Plus, a tourney to participate in? I am super stoked for this.

Thinking I'm gonna wait until I get my hands on one of the new cards to play it (I'm shooting for a 1070, and hoping I'm quick enough to grab one on release). I'm in dire need of the upgrade, and considering the shots they've released so far, I want Toussaint to sing.

From a CNET article which was pulled:

Blood and Wine includes over 90 new quests and 40 new points of interest. It also introduces a dynamic system, where interacting with an area's main POI affects adjacent points -- for example, killing enemies in their main hideout lowers their numbers in surrounding camps. Additionally, there will be 14,000 new lines of dialogue, which is 8,000 more than the previous expansion.

New gear and monsters include over 30 new weapons, 100 individual pieces of armor, and more than 20 new monsters. No specifics were announced.

12 new mutations were detailed, however, and players will be able to unlock them in New Game Plus. The mutations include one that causes enemies to freeze and die instantly when knocked by Aard, one that makes enemies to explode when they're killed with a sign's critical hit, and another that heals and grants you damage immunity when you lose all of your health.

Other additions include the New Game Plus maximum level increasing to 100, a new "Skellige" Gwent deck, and a redesigned user interface. Players will also be able to change the color of their gear with armor dyes that can be obtained through merchants, recipes or loot. However, these can only be acquired in Toussaint.

Unfortunately, a release date has still not been announced for Blood and Wine. Polish gaming site GRYOnline posted a listing that said it would be released on June 7, but that has not been confirmed.

Now, this sounds like a proper expansion. Shut up and take my money CDPR!

Kotaku's got a little write up based on a three hour demo, as well.

Playable area is roughly the size of the Novigrad landmass.

No. What follows is a psychopathic maniac dragging a women, that clearly despises his homicidal ass, back to his home against her will and locking her up there, against her will again. Over the following years she understandably hates his guts and tries to kill him and herself multiple times, which again is understandable because she is held against her will by a psychopathic maniac that murdered her lover in front of her eyes, beats her, and that most likely rapes her from time to time (because let's face it. How else did she get pregnant from a man she despises to the point of wanting to kill him).

Sure she is no saint. She cheated on her husband and made a deal with obviously evil swamp witches. But seriously, lashing out in anger verbally and sometimes physically at a man that kindapped you, holds you prisoner, beats you regularily and rapes you is not something I would consider being abusive.

As recall correctly, the baron found them on the way to elope with her lover and the baron's only daughter that he seems to greatly love JUST after he came back from war. With all that ugliness and to come home only to find that? I am not surprised he was seeing red. I dont think the abuse started before he she decided to go happy ever after with someone else.

Also, how can he kidnap his own wife and daughter?

He was trying mend things it seem and she just mentally and physically abuses him that in the end, she got what she gave. That she got it from the same person she did it to shouldn't matter because he's a he.

Never dish out what you can't take. As my dad always say.

That plate he's wearing in the beginning looks terrific.

Really psyched for the new gear, especially the prospect of taking it into a NG+ (for which I'm going to be absurdly overleveled, unless they mess around with the scaling a little bit there).

I think they're going to raise the max level to 100 in NG+, so the scaling was probably tweaked a bit.
