If it's anything like HoS, you'll be able to just create a one off, appropriately leveled and equipped character and just jump right into the DLC, which might not be a bad idea if you can't get into the main game. Consensus suggests that (broadly speaking, at any rate) HoS is considered a marked improvement over the main game, and I wouldn't say that's not wrong. The missions and the characters are terrific are terrific, at any rate. Olgierd is best Witcher redhead, and considering his competition there, that's saying something.
I would have to agree that Hearts of Stone is a better experience than the main game. But then it is easier to write a short story than it is to write a novel. That and it was entirely their own vision rather than trying to match their vision and the original writers.
Good as Olgierd was however, Triss is still the best redhead.

To make things worse, CDPR put lots of Yenna's characteristics into da traitor especially in TW1 (e.g. 'There is nothing more pathetic, than a sorceress in tears.' Seriously CDPR...)

So ready to begin my last adventure with Geralt. Kinda sad to see this awesome ride to stop but all good has to come to an end at some point.

Considering we barely got to see any of the real Orlais in any meaningful sense, that's not necessarily a bad thing.
