I don't dislike the concept. I think howewer for a lot of people being restrained in a single city isn't their preferred setting. at least for this IP.

There should have been at least some other, bigger areas then the ones we got in DA2, without the reused assets (which happened in Kirkwall as well). I do think though that if Kirkwall itself was done better, even with small outside area, people would've reacted better. It was a combination of problem.

As well, there was no change to Kirkwall between acts, which didn't help me believe that Hawke's story took place over 7 years. I wanted a dynamic city rather than the static setting that we got. I didn't dislike Kirkwall as the primary setting of the game, but it was supposed to be a character in its own right and failed at that.

We got cities in DAI though. It just sucks.

There's a difference with that and saying cities are unnecessary.

Did we? We got the tiny marketplace out of the largest city in the world, and we got Redcliffe and Crestwood. And I guess the ruins of Sahrnia if you want to count that. Redcliffe which looks nothing like its original incarnation in DAO and has a lot less to do in it. Crestwood with about three named NPCs in it.

Your welcome, and I understand, tis why I have had him on ignore for a while.  I suppose I was living vicariously through you in your valiant attempts to reason with him, lol.

Nice to know I'm not alone there (referring to you and Kbomb). Almost everyone I talk to here loves DAI and I appreciate their posts. It never gets this weird.

I also would have been happy had they omitted all of the buzzcuts and grandpa eyebrows for a few more details. Honestly, who the hell asked for a majority of the hairstyles to be shaved and who wears those eyebrows? I hope they do better with CC in future titles. DAI had the worst CC of all three games, imo. Horrid.

And I could do without the horse/mounts. That horse had no benefits whatsoever.

Uggh I know.  They weren't that fast, they didn't look that great, and of course if you ride one, your party disappears and there is no banter, and this game is skimpy with how often banter triggers to begin with.

I love Roach. She (He? I honestly can't remember right now)  just doesn't give two ****. Seriously, I whistle my butt off and she is just hanging out with the other horses asking, "Where is that annoying whistling sound coming from.\? Anyhoo, carry on, gents." She is swift, though and I love how saddlebags add extra carrying capacity and I love how you can hang your trophies off your saddle, not only to show how badass you are, but actually get benefits from it.

And there is a Roach mission? Hell yes.

Roach is great.

Heh... well, I still say they're cities. Just not very good :D

The sad thing is that Val Royeaux is no more interesting than Redcliffe. But with Redcliffe, it's a little more excusable to me.

As a male, I do believe awesome beard is an essential part of manhood. Geralt's facial expressions and subtle motions (e.g. eyebrows and lips) really set him apart from other monstrosities like these:

It's not even just Geralt.  Lots of characters have great facial expressions.  Like Johnny.  That character manages to get his message across without even having his voice.  I've always thought that scene was a fantastic display of storytelling.

I am not sure what you're trying to say here. I apologize for experiencing a brain fart, but can you elaborate, please? (Can't tell if it's an insult or something else lol)

Oh, Johnny. What a sweetheart! I thought a lot of the npc/quest givers were really expressive. The few instances you have to tell someone their son/loved one died--those expressions were really sorrowful. And the one time I did a playthough where I romanced Yenn--when I allowed Triss to get on that boat and her face was just overcome with sadness. I felt it.

I actually thought DAI did a great job with expression, too. They've certainly come a long way since the days of our Warden's blank stare.

Spoiler

I don't understand how people could look at TW3 and say the characters are expressionless, though. I have seen that complaint before and it leads me to think they've never touched the game.

One of the first things i noticed in the game right away were facial expressions and it really impressed me, because not only it was huge improvement over previous titles it was one of the best i have seen in games. The only games that did it better are Order 1866 and Uncharted 4, but let's face it's not even fair to compare cinametic games with linear campaigns vs a full open world RPG.

Four days hype.

Really interested to see how B&W will compare to HoS. If it's even half as good as the latter, it should be amazing. Gonna be hard to top Olgierd and Mephisto, but I'm confident in the developers' abilities; haven't let me down yet.

Been staying away from any reviews/first-impression videos about it, so I dunno what the general consensus is regarding which expansion is better, but B&W seems to be adding a lot more gameplay-related things - which is neat so long as the story is also top-notch.

I still want them to shoehorn Iorverth in somehow, but that's just the fanboy in me talking.

Even though I am a Roche fangirl all the way, I would love to see Iorverth in this dlc! Though I never side with him, I do enjoy his character and his voice.

I know I am almost like a week late but yay, KBomb is back.

It's nice seeing the old TW3 gang coming back together for Blood and Wine.. but I am more suprised that of all people it's Elhanan who's been sticking around here the longest. Does anyone else find it a bit ironic?

His lengthy and ever-present interest in this thread is beyond strange. I think he really likes TW3. You know how it is when a boy secretly likes a girl, but doesn't want to admit it, so instead he teases her with insults and pulls her hair? Elhanan is that boy and TW3 is that little girl.

Fallout 4 is releasing their mod kit for Xbox One on Tuesday. It'll have to wait, as will my life until I complete B&W.

I don't play fallout and i doubt I ever will seeing the reviews. Far harbor is sitting on 72 i think on metacritic. I'm not playing anything atm.

But yeah 4 days more for B&W , and I will deffo put my lvl 69 Geralt to use.  Looking at the reviews, it's looking pretty damned fantastic and I can't wait. Kevin VanOrd is reviewing it for gs but still in progress. I wonder what score he'll give it :)

FO4 is my very first Fallout game. I am glad I gave it a chance because I really do enjoy it. I am really excited about this modkit being released for Xbox because if it works out, perhaps other games will follow suit.

And yeah, I am super excited about B&W. I have been avoiding as many spoilers that I can, so I am basically going in blind, with no reviews under my knowledge. I am not even bothered about that because I know if they put in even a nugget of the awesome they put into HoS, it's going to blow up my expectations.

Because Chris priestly was working with CDPR at the time, I had high hopes for TW3. Sadly, it was a title I could neither play mechanically, nor enjoy due to content.

But seeing as this thread began as a way to criticize DAI, and as CP still has strong ties to Bioware, I much prefer the DA series; hence my interest. This is a Bioware forum after all.

Fallout 2 is my first and best IMHO. As for B&W it is simply monster from another galaxy, I would love B&W more given it is the final chapter for Geralt's CDPR saga.

Chris was just a community manager. The guy seems to have trouble keeping a job these days. I have to wonder what it was like going to an entirely different kind of job culture for him, as CDPR is on the opposite end of the spectrum than EA. In a bunch of ways.

CP was in QA for years before becoming the Community Mgr; have known him since my early yrs on various Bioware forums.
