It's a fan project on questionable legal ground that's been kicking around for a few years now. It's built in Skyrim but requires ownership of both games to be legit per Bethesda, and all the assets are being built from the ground up because the creators are not allowed to reuse them.

 

If they ever get close to finishing it, I sort of suspect that Bethesda will can it anyway, just because. Hope springs eternal, though.

 

And I don't even know how much of the character will make it through the transition. Morrowind is a great game, but it's as night and day different from TW3 as most of the games TW3 gets compared to these days, fairly or unfairly, so you might be disappointed. I would say its strengths lie in world building and environmental design rather than writing, same as pretty much every Beth game.

 

I would also add that it was a much better game in 2001 than it is in 2016. I still think Skyrim is the best game Beth has made, and I'm sure everyone thinks I'm crazy. But I'm still playing it today.

On a new playthrough with both DLCs. Does stuff from the main-game carry over into B&W and should I finish it before going into the DLC?

 I've already done every ending so far and I don't really like what is considered the "good ending" where Syanna lives and Regis has to stay clear of the vampires. In my own opinion I found the good ending to be that Syanna is dead, Dettlaff lives and my bro Regis doesn't have to look over his shoulder. I kind of felt sorry for Syanna but not enough to like her and even Anna got on my nerves after a while (I loved telling Anna to sick her beagles on the vampires lol). Although I may be biased because I kind of fancied Dettlaff a bit and was hoping to run into him again; I'd make a horrible Witcheress *le sigh*. 

 

 I'm also curious as to how the ending went for Triss fans? Since I'm a Yen fangirl I'll probably never play through it but I can't find one video with Triss and it's driving me nuts . Someone told me they were disappointed with what she said at the end and that Yen's made more sense? If anyone could Clarify or has a video that would be great. The only thing I was disappointed with was that I felt Ciri should have popped up along with your romance choice and not only if you're single but oh well.

 

 All in all, I loved the story and CD projekts sense of humor. Make no mistake, this is an expansion and not a dlc, it is large, polished and really well done, it probably took me longer to go through everything then when I played awakening. However I'm kind of sad now; I'm really going to miss Geralt and even if it's the end of his story I would really like another game set in the witcher universe where I can make my own Witcher, but nothing and no one will beat Geralt for me. Also as others have already said, one of the best quests hands down was Equine phantoms, it was hilarious and also made me sad and ashamed in a way (I'll never curse Roach out again). I believe you receive the quest from the small hut to the right of the Dunn tyne crossroads and straight above the lake numbered one in this picture, if I'm remembering correctly.

What a perfect send off for the white wolf. B&W is amazing but as the last piece of Geralt's adventure, it makes me mega sad.

You could start HoS during the middle of a playthrough, but B&W story is after the main game.  Both EXPANSIONS are amazing.

I don't think your crazy.  I will 100% agree with you that Skyrim is the best game they have ever made.  I do have a special place in my heart for Morrowind however, being the game that introduced me to The Elder Scrolls. 

 

I thought it was better than Oblivion actually.  And while it's true that the writing in Bethesda games are never their strong point, in Morrowind I could make boots that let me jump over mountains.  That made me happy.

I didn't hate it, but I certainly didn't adore it either.  Going through those Oblivion gates got to be seriously monotonous for me.  And I hated the progression system in it.  But things like the Dark Brotherhood questline and later on The Shivering Isle expansion made it fairly decent for me.

Really loved both W3 expansions and the DLC as a whole for the game felt very much like I got not only my moneys worth and then some but going into CDPR's next project Cyberpunk 2077 I feel like it's a game I will be looking forward to and I know nothing about cyberpunk to start with. 

 

I played the entire B&W expansion with the HoS face brand on to see if it would get any notice. I was happy when

I really wish more companies sold full on expansions not just 3 hour long DLC stories.  

 

Also traveling all over Beauclair I thought several times about all the missed opportunities with Val Royeaux. If Val Royeaux looked even half as good as Beauclair I would have been blown away.
