I disagree with the OP, what Bioware needs to do is stop releasing broken games.
On the plus side, maybe next week, all these clowns will leave and we'll be spared the dumb witcher threads for a few months.
Naw they'll stay and keep complaining.
I have to commend you on the epic irony of calling something with true mature content middle school while sporting Tommy Servo as your avatar from Mystery Science Theatre 3000. Nothing middle school about that. Not at all.
Lol what? Have you ever actually seen MST3K?

No kidding. Some of those jokes would have gone over Dennis Miller's head.
It needs out of place J-pop music
Agreed. B'z is a vast improvement on Thirty Seconds to Mars or Florence & the Machine.
I think all games companies can learn from each other, and from other games. Whether they learn from what others did well, or to avoid what others did poorly. The result is that we end up getting better games to play. It makes no sense for devs to stay in their own little bubbles and have their products stagnate and suffer as a result.
I wanted to quote this for effect before I ranted. I am really liking watching the Witcher 2 through some very chill and relaxed streamers. However, I wanted to rant a bit about something I absolutely cringed at.
There seems to be a very annoying little narrator in the background that has these close ups of frozen in time, close ups of Geralt and some other people. When he first escapes from Ex prison for example. "Don't get bored of my tale just yet!" had me yelling SHUT IT on the other end. Despise that kind of story telling. I want to see it and hear the dialogue myself. Don't do little "catch ups' of events we may have missed. I'm not a moron don't treat me like one!
Someone called me out for that criticism in a chatroom and I pointed out, that while it was present in Bayonetta, I expected that kind of cartoony story telling mechanic in Bayonetta (WHICH I like for the storytelling of Bayonetta). I want a dark story that I can witness first hand or experience through dialogue and not a narrator.
Dragon age can learn some things from other rpg stories, but narrators are not that which they need.
This seems a little premature, I'd say.
I don't think so Witcher 2 much better game then DA:I. And from AngryJoe(he already have game, well at least early build.) videos Witcher 3 looks much better.
Has anyone released any details on the actual consequences of decisions in this game to be worth mentioning?
No Witcher 2 consonances pretty much the same as DA:I just slide show of what you done in game. What king or prince dead, who split kingdom. But Witcher 2 ending much better. last boss batle ![]()

After AngryJoe's rant about Nintendo (which I already understood Nintendo was a shady company to begin with), I cannot take anything he says seriously.
But yeah from what I see from Witcher 2 aside from their cartoonish Narrator and Slide Show after every major milestone quest I'm impressed with their villains and world environment.
You mean like the Issac Clarke cosmetic armor you get if you play Dead Space 2? Or maybe the class packs (mage, warrior, rogue) pack that they released for DA2 and charged $3 a pop or $5 for all three? Then there was item pack 2 and not to forget the tons of promotional and exclusive items.
That isn't even touching all of the Mass Effect armor and weapon packs.
So far, all that has been announced about the free dlc is an armor set-- that can expand your inventory, a bunch of different hair styles and beard sets, a skin for Yennifer and a free mission. They could have easily bundled those for $2 or $3, but didn't and there are twelve more to go. If they're anything like the four mentioned, and for free to boot--then yes, please.
Hell, the extra hair styles and beards alone is exciting to me. Not to mention the fact that Geralt's beard actually grows as the game progresses is pretty neat. But you know, to each their own.
I meant hair stuff, not item packs.
Yes each to their own because I am buying the game as well.
I love both games and I don't think DAI needs to be a clone of Witcher and vice versa. DA was fine as it was. Was. Because everything changed with DAI.
DAI is nothing but a game filled with meaningless fetch quests and a bunch of useless collective stuff with lots of running through maps.
For starters: PC. Geralt is far more interesting than our dull ass Inquisitor. Don't get me wrong, I love playing as the character I CREATE, but BW created too many races to pick and we didn't get any backstory. Nothing at all. Nothing. Even in Origins our character had something, but now? Nope. This is why I liked the idea of Hawke from DA2. She/he was a human, okay, but at least they had some personality and story and we still could change their appearance with gender. Hawke is so far my fav PC. *waits for the haters*
Next: Quests. Both DA and Witcher always had fetch quests, yet the Inquisition is nothing but a massive fetch quest. What happened with interesting side quests? With cutscenes during them? Why did they disappear?
Dialogues: I've always loved dialogues in DA. Always. I never skipped them and as I did in Witcher. But then again... dialogues in DAI are so freaking boring. We just stand in one spot and listen to some guy who repeats the same animations over and over again until he's done talking to us. Where is the damn cinematic camera? I want it back. I want to see facial expressions during a conversation again! In every conversation, not just two or three.
So obviously something very bad happened to DAI. The aspects I loved about this franchise just disappeared with this game. Some people love DAI, sure, but some don't and I'm one of them. I want DA as it was before the Inquisition. With normal side quests, normal conversations with people and interesting PC.
I haven't played W3 yet, but I know for sure it has all the things I wanted from DAI.
And I just pray that the next Dragon Age will be better.

I don't like AngryJoe's let's say "political views" I don't know how how else to say it, if I would know him in real life we wouldn't be friends, but all this taste and opinions on games I can follow blindly, If he say game good I will like.
I disagree I love all flashbacks after major quest recalling to the past and "cartoonish" style. And agree about narrator Varric >>Dandelion, I don't know why but I just don't like Dandelion.
I mean how can I like AngryJoe's commentary about anything after he accused anyone with disagreeing about his position being a Nintendo Fanboy :/ The guy was a sourpuss and any review he had was completely tainted for me. Even looking at his little thumb nails disgusts me for the videos he does.
By the way, I meant the close ups on Geralt, and his friend Trish. I don't like it, it's stupid and awkward looking at them frozen in time as someone narrates why Trish has SOME beef with Geralt about ex from the past. I am okay with them doing flashbacks or 2D comicbook style flashbacks. Just having that narrator's voice and talking for Geralt and Trish was immersion breaking for me. Anyway, I'm really hoping DA4 avoids this.
The game isn't even out yet. Also, biased opinion is biased. If you don't have better feedback than that, then this is just a bait thread.
Let's just assume for a second that you're right. That this is a bait thread (I agree that the title is certainly very clickbait- y.) That's only a possibility because people on the BSN completely lose their **** at the mere mention of the Witcher games. Just look at people calling TW fans clowns or implying the games are nothing more than ****** material for 14 year old boys.
Say that you'd like Bioware to implement combat similar to that in Dragon's Dogma, that's fine. Say that you'd like for the next DA to be more old school like PoE? That's fine too. Say that you'd like the next DA to implement something from the Witcher franchise however, and people get all weird and defensive and hostile. Hackles are raised, and people go on the attack. Why? There's a few reasons, TW games aren't politically correct, they offend people, it hurts alot of people's neo Puritan sensiblities. There's a bit of inferiority complex going on as well (and no, i'm not saying that one is better than the other.)
Seriously though, to the people who get offended easily and/or are sick of these threads. Don't post in them, it's that simple. You aren't being forced to read/post in every thread. There are plenty of other threads on these boards that aren't comparing The Witcher to Dragon Age, go read through them instead.
I see that after the beloved sex cards, people are now eager to use "sex on a unicorn" as their favorite argument for why Witcher is immature/sexist/******/whatever. Funny, considering how Bioware has obviously taken a leaf from CDPR's book with their sudden turn to showing nudity in sex scenes and adding swearing to DAI.

No. I seriously am tired by the fact all Dutch ever talks about is The Witcher on these boards. It's disrespecting BioWare's work and it's not constructive at all.

I thought Hawke was boring at times, yes they have family situations but they themselves never really have any character arc - from beginning to end they're mostly the same pirates-of-the-caribbean type bravado. DAI's protagonist on the flip side has a character arc but none of it is truly personal, and even then only a Dalish Elf PC feels rooted in every facet of that game's world. Geralt is a cool dude, but he was already an established character before the first witcher game even took place - it's cool that you get to play as him but you never really shape him.
I still think a personal quest for every protagonist should be mandatory in bioware games so there's some personal history and connection.

Yes, but The Witcher portrays filthy casual/recreational sex! Bioware only depicts twoo love! (meanwhile BSNers are asking for an S&M romance where they get to be the dom.)
DA shouldn't be more like The Witcher. We've all seen their efforts to copy other games and I have no desire to play a knock off Witcher anymore than I want to play a Knock off Skyrim. I personally no longer give two craps what BW do with their future games. I'm no longer interested in their lore overall. At this point, I just like their diversity.

Morrigan use magic to create bra.
Yennifer and Triss use it remove bra.
Sexy time on unicorn
I don't know how Bioware would beat this but I want to see it.
This isn't a Dutch thread.
To me it is, as I put him and Spectre into the same boat. Personally which is why I'm going to ignore anything said in it from now on.

Yes, those threesomes with Isabela and Zevran were so committed and pure. Like the encounter with the nugs at the Pearl. And Iron Bull's love for that Chantry sister he was thanking so thoroughly in Haven.
I don't think there's anything wrong with depicting casual sex. Both series do so. (I don't think the sex cards were a very good idea, but to their credit CD Projeckt Red didn't put them in the sequels.)
