On a separate note about an orphaned kid,  how great is it when you revisit Oroten after the Cat and Wolf play to receive a gift from the kid.

I know I'm going to sound terrible but I have to be honest, I haven't played that quest yet. I played and beat the game before it came out and then I got sidetracked with the expansions and then I just decided to save it for a perfect run, which is going to be my play through right now. I hear there is going to be another hard decision though, probably enough to make me bite through my fingernails several times over . ^_^

Can we frame it and put it on the wall in B&W? Started a new game and just got to HoS.

I know! I hate meta gaming, and I'm sorry for spoiling it for you. However I'm just going to justify it by Geralt thinking that she needs to get out of the city quick to get away from witch hunters and he doesn't really know that she'll end up being happy with Corinne I guess.

I thought Karadin didn't mean for the other witcher to die though? maybe I'm a dupe. The bolded sounds pretty good though, I just might try it that way so I don't feel half so bad lol. I am on deathmarch for the first time though, so i wonder if that will be possible for me. I feel like I'm playing dark souls or something; not that I beat dark souls, I kind of gave up on that. :/

It's np, I don't feel spoiled, I won't be playing the main game for a long while so I'll most likely forget and still choose for her to stay at the house lol!

With Karadin, I think it's left open to interpretation. I don't know if he meant for the Witcher to die but I feel like he never should have went after him for the money in the first place.  The moment he found out it was a fellow Witcher, he should have turned the job down.  IMO, Karadin just comes off as a man who would do anything for money. I don't blame him, he wanted to retire and take care of his kids, but still. I think he could have lived without taking that one job.

Yeah death march is brutal. I tried it for a bit and went right back to nice sweet lil causal 'Just the story' mode.  lol!!

to be honest, i feel the Jan Karadin quest a harder choice than killing or freeing the tree spirit.  Do I let kids or the Bloody Baron die.  I free the spirit so the kids live.  They are innocent,  despite getting to know the baron,  he was a drunken ass who beat his wife and Anna was a cuckolding shrew who drove the Baron to drink.  It's also  the Barons choice to die, not Geralts.

But the choice about freeing the tree spirit isn't just about what you wrote.

First of all Geralt (and you on your first playthrough without uising a guide) don't know what consequences freeing the spirit will have.

All we know at this point is that if we don't free him the orphan kids will die. (and even that could be a lie)

Furthermore it's not only that the Baron and Anna die, but the tree spirit also destroys a village, killing each of it's inhabitants including several children. He also does it in a very brutal way. The elderman is the only one who survives and if you talk to him afterwards, he tells you that the tree spirit made family members turn on each other.

Even knowing the consequences, the choice is not about baron vs five children dying but baron+anna+about 10 villagers (3 of them children if I remember correctly)vs five children, which I would indeed call a hard choice.

I'm not versed enough in fables, but who was that little thug life girl supposed to be? She was awesome.

The girl with matches, one of the Andersen's characters. She's very poor and she earns money by selling matches. She dies at the end (although I'm not sure how... I think she freezed).

Abandon all hope, Kbomb. The MEA forum is eating itself.

Although - that particular thread is like the perfect, Platonic ideal of a BSN thread.

Man, there's no place like home.

They nuked the whole thing, same as they did the last time that was farting around the forum. I'm almost disappointed.

Did you happen to see what pushed it over the edge? Or was it just the general lunacy he was putting out?

I think it was just his constant name calling. He made another thread under Herald of Justice. I betcha five bucks.

Edit: One thing for sure, if anyone comes in here using the word bigot, please, please ignore them, else this thread may have the same fate.

Definitely a different guy, unless I'm nuts. He's been around here before and you can still find his posts in some of the top MEA threads. The one about backwards compatibility is a gem.

I actually just wrote this same thing in another thread on the MEA forum.

I just want to love Gwent so much, but I can't. I just can't get into it. I have won serveral games of it and you'd think that would spur me on to play more and like it. I can't though and it's unfortunate because I miss out on some missions and I have to dodge when people ask to play me.

Gwent is all about calculation and strategy and luck of course. It takes time to love it, I totally skipped it in my first playthrough. But now, 'A round of Gwent?' is my Geralt's pick up line! :)

In my first playthrough, I chose to free the spirit because I had do what I could to ensure the orphans safety.  I did this quest before the Baron's quest so at this stage knew nothing of the Baron, Anna and Tamara.

The next playthrough I did the opposite to see if I could get a better result,  and felt I didn't. I have no sympathy for the villagers,  I little bit for the villagers kids (they are innocent),  sad to see Tamara lose her parents but this happens to everyone at some stage.  With respect to Anna and the Baron,  I believe there is no way in hell that if Anna ever got better that their relationship would improve, so their death isn't worse.

It's not a hard choice to me.

With the settled down cat witcher,  there is no real way to tell if he has truly repented his previous life  or not. So I don't decide, I do what Lambert would do.

Edit:  Speeling, grammar.

*sigh*

I get tired of Geralt telling me how to solve quests, which potion to use, etc. CDPR really embraced hand holding in TW3. I mean it's totally pervasive in the investigative process. As someone who cut their teeth on TW1 and TW2, this is disappointing. I hope they get away from the hand holding in Cyberpunk.

You know, this was one of the few criticisms I had with the game. That annoyed me too. I felt like yelling, "I get it Geralt! This isn't my first rodeo!"

I don't mind that stuff so much in a tutorial stage, but after an hour or so in, if I haven't figured it out, I doubt I will. So, yeah, I hope they fix that in future games.

It's kinda nice how this thread on a Bioware feedback forum for Dragon Age turned into this like big debate and lots of back and forth and then finally like a hardcore RPG fan celebration thing with people being all pretty nice to each other ultimately.N

Not that there won't be arguments ever again, but, you know.

I don't even remember what I wrote a long time ago, here something like TW is low dark fantasy and that was really important for some reason.

This is probably what bothered me the most about the game, i don't mind when Geralt speaks to himself when he is solving investigations or objectives but giving players solutions when you can already clearly see them with senses and doing cpt. Obvious was awful, i wish there was option to disable it.
