Telltale has never been big on game play, their games are point and click type.  It's usually all about the story.  I love their stuff, but they do have their flaws.

@KBomb, I cried like a baby at the end of that game, too! lol! The second season wasn't as good as the first but they still managed to get me. That game even managed to get me to like Pewdiepie after I watched him ball like a baby.  I'm planning on replaying them on my computer to prepare for Season 3.

Man, it killed me.

Also, to anyone: I am trying to start NG+ on TW3 and it keeps saying I don't have a save from the end of the game. I obviously do.. I am up to date, I loaded, got the NG+ pop-up, saved and quit and tried to start NG+ and still won't work.

This is a save from an already NG+ file, could this be the issue? Does it only work for one NG+?

I have to say that the first Walking Dead Telltale made was fantastic. The ending to that game took a toll in my emotions the way no other game has. Honestly, it stuck with me for days. I never hardly cry at anything, but I remember a couple of days after playing it, I was stuck in traffic and I started thinking about it and started crying. The second series was good, but the first one was something special.

I can understand enjoying the story,  it was more than solid in Tales of the Borderlands.  I did not like the game mechanic at all.

Yes,  you need to start from a NG.

I am starting the game on a NG+. What I am trying to say is the game that has the end game save file was also a NG+. I have completed that particular game twice. First time on a fresh game, beat it, chose NG+, beat it again and now I am trying to NG+ on the same save again and it won't let me.

Only one NG+ on a given save, sadly. I think it's due to level scaling.

Sorry I wasn't clear,  You can't start a NG+ from a previous NG+ save. ie.  you can only do NG and NG+ not NG++.  As USAC said,  it's due to level scaling.

Oh what the actual heck? Okay, I figured it was something to do with that. Guess it's a fresh start! Thanks nfi42 and Tommy! <3

It's why I started a NG.  So I could fully utilize the extra skill slots in  NG+ after doing B&W in NG.

That right there.  I don't think anyone here is anti Bioware.  Everyone who posts here have grown up playing their older, more superior games.  We just want them to be that Bioware again.

This right here.

I would love nothing more than for the next DA game to exceed Witcher 3, and for CDPR to have try and raise the stakes again. I'd call that a win-win for everyone.

The basis of their DA games is still my preferred RPG. Selected playable race, more of a blank slate character. I'm not going to avoid playing a game because it's not exactly how I want it. If I did that I would have missed out on a hell of a lot of great games such as Deus Ex, System Shock, PS: Torment,  and so the list goes on.

At the moment I'm splitting my spare time between Stellaris which is pause'n'play and Alien Isolation with a fixed character, and no pause, not even when accessing an ingame computer terminal.... learnt that the hard way. LOL.

and if you extend yourself outside of RPG,  the list is endless...............

I mean think about the game Portal,  an FPS without guns.  Fantastic game.

Indeed. I loved the portal games. Even played the Portal 2 co-op mode which was great fun. Hell of a lot better than DA:I's co-op mode - which isn't exactly a big statement.

The Left for Dead games were great co-op game if you're into zombie shooters.  I even played solo with 3 bots in LFD and still enjoyed it.

But I wish Valve started making single player games again,  they were so good.

I played HL2 + the 2 DLC through again about a year ago. I think it still holds up well. It seems valve though would prefer to cash in on microtransactions than make a new game which is a shame. Would have loved the HL series to continue, or another Portal game for that matter. Glados was a great villain.

I've played part of the way in the L4D games, but never got around to finishing them.

TW3 is fantastic, just finished B&W and what a fantastic expansion it was and actually felt like a full game they know how to make great DLC, still can't believe it was only 18 bucks, TW3 is easily my fav RPG ever it was a especial experience with a great universe, stories and characters etc I would love for the next DA to be more like TW3 but I think CDPR is simply on another level. I just hope that there will be a Witcher 4 but maybe it would be better to stop here if geralt won't be in it, The Witcher without geralt as the mc doesn't sound right.

In time they will probably visit the witcher world again without Geralt as protagonist.  I'm happy with this,  they don't need to call it Witcher 4.

I want a game with Roach as protagonist.

Roach is awesome  :D

Seriously though you meant Roche right? I love Roche but I think a game about him wouldn't fit unless it was an spin off, one of the especial things about The Witcher is the feeling of being a witcher, taking witcher contracts etc.

But yeah their next game won't be out until late 2019 at the earliest probably so I expect another Witcher game if there will be one to be 7 years from now, hopefully its set in Nilfgaard or another place far from the North.

No.  I meant Roach as a joke.

She is awesome and I bet she would be the best Gwent player as well.

Well, I have always looked at them more like interactive shows than video games.  Once I started to do that, I enjoyed them a whole lot more.

Got a couple of random questions for you guys. I tried starting a B&W DLC only game and I was pleasantly surprised to see that I could do HoS in there as well. The pop up I got noted that the main quests were unavailable (and flagged as complete), although all side quests and contracts are available. Does anyone know what world state we have for these DLC only playthroughs? Just curious as to who might show up in B&W's epilogue in this case. Additionally, can we start a new game plus off of one of these saves?

Second dumb question, for PC players - I have been playing with a number of mods, but all of them are aesthetic mods, nothing that alters gameplay or scripts. I'm thinking of using a couple of more in depth mods for my NG+ - one that allows relic and witcher gear to level with you, and one that give witcher 2 potion lengths.

I know from playing Beth games that orphaned scripts from removed mods can do serious damage to a save file - is this the case in TW3? The fact that moddability is limited seems to suggest that the chance of completely borking a save is proportionally smaller, but I could be wrong.

Thanks!

I've finished TW3 several times and I got all endings. What I like about DAI is that there is a party and then the credits roll. TW3 goes a bit further. After the tower scene you are dropped back into the world and you see some of the changes there. But you are also given a mission to see what actually happened to Ciri and/or Geralt.

In my first playthrough I got the good ending and didn't know what to think of it. It felt a bit disappointing, until I saw that the game wasn't finished yet. The final scene with the sword in the tavern was simple, but way more emotional than the DAI party. Damn, CDPR are masters of their craft.

I didn't like the HoS DLC much. The story is just not my cup of coffee (not a fan of tea). It wasn't bad, though. Don't get me wrong. And it was still money well spent.

The BaW DLC was great, though. Again, great endings, atmosphere and story telling. There CDPR used the same idea, of the main story: You'll experience what the consequences are.

What I didn't like in the TW-trilogy is that some characters are showing up, without much of an introduction. I know, it is all based on books, but I rather have stories and characters that don't rely on another medium. However, I knew that TW was based on books before playing the games, so I knew what I was getting into.

So what ending do you prefer in  HOS?  choose evil itself or Olgierd?

wrt books,  DAI was bad with relying on characters from books without explaining them.  I felt with TW3,  if you read all the books, notes and ask all the dialogue questions you have a good idea of what's going on.

Just started B&W after starting a new playthrough.  Just ordered my first upgrades at Corvo Bianco.

I haven't tried starting NG+ this way,  but iirc I've read that it is possible.

wrt the scripts,  I suspect they might corrupt your savegame if you remove the mod.  Easy way to find out is try it,  level up, save game, disable the mods. If the save game loads up, your good to go.
