And I apologize in advance if I inadvertently broke my spoiler rule with that.

Just speaking for myself obviously, but it's no problem. I spoiled almost the entire Geralt and Yennefer romance arc for myself ages ago, plus parts of the ending. I really don't like the combat in this game so it took me a while to really get into it.

Just out of curiosity, Yenn, Triss or Shani?

Don't think she's met Shiani yet. She still on the base game and by the sounds of it, still half way-ish.

Yeah, all three have been discussed in depth here, I was just curious who she was going to choose--if she had an idea yet.

Has anyone made a case for choosing none of them?  I can.

Priscilla.

Kidding. She's my favorite character though.

I'm playing through the Geralt and Yennefer romance arc. I enjoy the opposites attract element to their story.

I like them all differently even though I have my favorites and while I can make a case for Triss and yen, can I hear your case for Shani pretty please? She just seems so cool and level headed to me; I literally can't think of any downside with her other than the fact that her life will be much shorter in comparison to Geralt's.

2 things.

Shani becomes very possessive in TW1,  not a personality trait I like.

Gerald is not young anymore.  I can believe that he doesn't want to commit (oops I used the C word) to any one woman.  Personally I'm in my fifties,  was with my ex wife for 20  years, married for 10 and I have no desire to do the commit thing again.

True,  but for different reasons.  I'm finding that the older I get, the less likely I'm going to overlook character traits I don't like.  The young, it's more about just fear of the unknown.

^ Well you mean for you.

For me, no matter what exact age I am, I don't believe in monogamy, it's the same feeling. Plus I've been in long term relationships already, it's just not for me.

Anyway I think TW relationships are monogamish, not really wholly 1 to 1 or elsewise.

For me and largely true for my circle of friends.  In any case,  I see Geralt not wanting to be tied down.

Thank you and fair enough, it's been a while since I played the first game so I don't remember a lot of the relationship aspects. I just always gave the first game a pass because from what I remember Shani and Triss seemed like vastly different people in that game and they both seem more laid back now.

Just because I'm curious, which one do you prefer? :P

Games?  TW3 > TW2 > TW1.  I see a huge improvement in each game.  I played TW1 3 times for each possible alliance,  but it was always a struggle for me with the bad English voice acting and combat.  TW2 I liked,  but I'm generally turned off by politics and don't like QTE's

Romances?  If I had to choose.  Triss > Shani > Yen.  Yen, I could not tolerate at all irl.  Shani as above, Triss used Geralt but to me that's more tolerable than Yen and Shani. Shani also decides Geralt is not right for her, and I respect that.

Shani and Triss are are vastly different characters in TW3,  or at least have matured and outgrown their flaws.

You're like Jon snow, you have a thing for redheads ;) . For me it goes Yen > Shani > Triss

I rate the series the same as you although I love politics in games if they're handled with the care that was used in witcher 2 and the only way I was able to get over the bad voice acting in Witcher 1 was by switching out English and reading the subtitles.

This actually made me realize that I would love for CD projekt to do something with the game of thrones universe, they would handle it wonderfully.

Ever had a natural red head as a partner as well?

I like Shani a lot, but I think that with scrutiny, the relationship gets a little weird because of the age difference. Geralt's like what, somewhere around a century old, whereas she is maybe late twenties tops?

They have a nice chemistry, but it all seems too abbreviated - like there wasn't enough time for them to really have the history they have. It's not hard to look past, but I prefer to see him with Triss.

Or, of course, Olgierd.

Isn't Triss pretty young as well though? I know she's not as young as Shani but I always thought she was supposed to be in her early or mid thirties.

I guess age doesn't matter so much to me as long as there is chemistry and things in common. Some guys age like fine wine so I always went after them and never thought it was weird; considering I'm 27 and the last guy I dated was 47....Shani feels the same B)

Olgierd's a nice option but I think I'm leaning more towards Regis. His elegance really balances out Geralt's gruff nature I think.

Ugh I can't believe I wrote read heads in my other post, that doesn't even make sense...sorry people but I've been really sleep deprived lately.

Take that and double it, as I understand it. She's not a crookback crone like Yenn, but I think she's still in her 50s or 60s. Still ok, though. Half your age plus seven.

I'd take a happily ever with Regis too. It's just that during that final scene in Olgierd's good ending, you could cut the tension with a knife. Also that voice. He still might be best redhead.

I think all hair colors can be attractive, for males and females.

Eye color though I find tiny biases start to creep in....

Ouch you wound me sir...

Anyway, I like Olgierd so I wouldn't complain; it was too bad that Skjall didn't look like him though.

Holy crap. Origins is available on GoG.

Very tempted to uninstall from Origin.
