I finally finished the game and I'm so sad now :crying:

Seriously through, I think TW3 is the best that the open-world RPG genre has to offer and I just love how much the game makes you care about the characters (not only the main characters...but also minor NPCs like Keira, Priscilla, the Baron, Shani, Syanna in Blood and Wine, and so on). The fixed protagonist didn't bother me as much as I thought it would, but I'll always welcome the ability to customize my character.

My only real problem was that the story was sometimes really confusing for someone like me who is not familiar with the Witcher universe. I suppose that those whose first Mass Effect game was ME3 or started the series with DA:I had the same problem and it's probably unavoidable jumping this late in the series...I mean, there are all these characters Geralt has a long history with. But I also didn't really understand the ending for example and was left wondering about how exactly Ciri stops the white frost. Yennefer and the last wish side quest is another example....and I ended up romancing Triss before having more than one conversation with Yen at the beginning when she's rather cold towards Geralt.

As for Bioware games being more like TW3, I'm sure everything has already been said: Better animations, open world immersion/design, side-quest design are things I'd like to see.

And Gwent is so much fun  :D

It is probably for the better you did not know the characters that well. I never read the books but did some research about the characters while waiting.

Finished the game for the second time....  :crying: after knowing the characters better.... I feel more sad when I finally made a final save game in Geralt's estate with Yen at his side.

What graphical improvements should da4 take from w3

We don't even know if there will be a DA4.

Well, for one, Bioware should stop making their characters so shiny.

The best review for DAI plot hole:

At least I'll have something to keep me busy for a while. lol! I watched the first three vids of that DAI plot analysis series and plan to watch the rest.  So far the guy is right on the money, even concerning small details I didn't even think of when I played the game.

What do you mean shiny? I love being blinded by characters and their armor.

The clear and unambiguous answer in Bioware's case is "Hairworks."

I just plugged a 1070 into my rig, and running with it on and maxed out is beautiful.

The best review for DAI plot hole:

smudboy is just a nit picker and I can't stand those kinds of people. nit pickers are people who have never written anything themselves or have never worked on a collaborative project like a video game.

I'm not saying DAI doesn't have story or narrative problems but nit picking is just an excuse to hear yourself talk.

I don't have any previous knowledge of who smudboy is nor his personality. I judge the verdict of one's idea on a case-by-case basis. In this particular video, he sums up my exact thoughts about DAI thus I share it.

I don't know the guy either, but so far I've watched several parts of this DAI series and he brings up lots of interesting points, even ways how the story could have been improved with just a few minor work arounds and asking questions of the plot.  I like to think of it as a peer review of DAI's story. Something the leads at Bioware obviously dislike judging by those glassdoor reviews.

I have watched his conclusion and his first three Inquisition videos now. He makes valid points. While you can poke holes in pretty much any story, that doesn't mean you can't raise issues with a particular one. Ideally this kind of critical questioning is what the writers themselves do to try to prevent the more obvious cases of wonky logic.

Aww. Did anyone ever meet up with Guillaume the knight again if you lift the curse and not tell him anything?

A fitting end, I think.

I gotta go looking for him now, that sounds hilarious.

I always go the egg route, it's sort of bittersweet and I like the message it has.  That just because you care about someone and choose to go out of your way to help them doesn't mean they owe it to you to fall in love with you.

"You have to know, the world doesn't revolve around you."-Geralt of Rivia B)

I watched another player go the "tell Guillaume" route, it had its very sweet moments that made it not entirely a typical "knight falls for damsel" story, especially when he talks about his Aunt's possible cancer, but I couldn't believe they had some sort of true love just from that.
