For me, they are liked for the personality they are given by their creators, and changing that would alter what makes them special to me.
Sexuality is not a part of personality for everyone.

True, but for me I just love Dorian and his adorable flamboyant ways and his sweet romance with IB (if not romanced) is just precious to me, but I'm just one lady with her own opinion. I feel that if he would have been bi or straight, he would have lost what makes him beloved to some of us fans.
Anyone remember this blue lady? She's not an Asari, but she is frelling awesome.

All he would lose is support from gay people who care about being represented and feel like he is a nice representation.

He should be liked for more than that reason, though kudos to them if they are happy. I found him represented very decently without insulting them with heavy stereotypes. He's more than just homosexual though. He's a rare Tevinter Mage who is not what all the books stated them to be, and he proved good people exist everywhere, even in places that sound like you are about to enter Hell. He should meet Fenris. ![]()

Exactly, and because of that - people don't have problems changing his sexuality via mod and still enjoy him as the person he is.

A mod can change his love interest, but not his personality and it would seem a bit odd since his story and dialogue are pretty much implying he's homosexual. Cass they can get away with, but I don't think they could with Sera, though they might. She's not as obvious or has a quest related to her sexual preference. If I recall, Cullen was meant to be gay and in a relationship with Dorian at one point and for some reason I can see Cullen as bi.

I very much doubt Cullen was ever meant to be gay, especially as he was in love with the female Mage Warden in Origins.

The plan was to have Cullen as a bi option but they ran out of time to animate the scenes. I never heard he was supposed to be with Dorian.

It was dialogue found in the game. Dorian was telling your Inquisitor that he was with Cullen. Same with the dialogue where Cole tells Blackwall he killed the Templar. There was a 3rd option to let him do it and become more like a demon, but the scene was cut, not the dialogue.

I thought those lines referred to a male Inquisitor who was flirting with Dorian will also having an active romance with Cullen. Considering how these things usually work, if they had to cut Cullen's male romance content I sort of doubt they'd bring Dorian and IB's voice actor's back just to record a few lines of romance banter.
*Sigh* You really shouldn't post things like "I heard that such-and-such a thing was planned" without any sort of source link. All that does is spread misinformation.
In the end it doesn't really matter. We have the NPCs we have, with the sexualities they have, and the set romances available to us. IMO what they had planned, considered, or merely talked about at some miscellaneous meeting really has no significance.

Ah yes that was it! Lol your male Inquisitor could romance Cullen according to Dorian. I got the banter mixed up. And I heard the dialogue on YouTube, so yeah Cullen was meant to be bi (and Qunari and Dwarves could romance him) and it makes sense when I think about his interesting interactions with both male and female Inquisitors.

I actually figured she's specifically who the Asari are based on.

That's Zahn (Zhan?) from Farscape. She's a Delvian priestess (9th level? 10th?) One of the sweetest, and deadliest aliens you'd ever meet. Known as "blue assed b*tch" amongst the Hynerians. ![]()
EDIT: Checked. Zotoh Zhaan.

I wonder how that works with his personal question and dialogy. Or will it completely just disregard those.Someone has already posted the link to Dorian bi mod. I still have not seen any reactions from that in this thread.
I am not aware of any Sera bi mod at this moment.

The dialogue changes to reference his mustache, and his father wanted to use blood magic to remove it.
"You tried to...shave me!"

I've got a mod that makes her skin slightly darker, her eye make up a bit more intense and her mouth a bit less red..
BUT that's a bit more accurate to her DA2 appearance, so I've modded Cass to be more... Cass?
I still like her original face as well though.
You see that kind of modding, Lore friendly modding, I can understand. I'm in favour of it.
I thought someone's personality and overall behaviour hinted at their sexuality, not their natural looks.
Yes. Arguably. But I really don't see any tell-tale remark or quirk of personality that hints to Cassandra also being into women. I just don't see it. I wouldn't even have a problem with it if there was, but I don't see the connection at all.

lol lol
You people know that this is just a mod and that it does not affect your own game ?
Additionally, it is just a romance arc. A romance arc involving fictional characters in someone else's game.
Don't you see the absurdity that you have to possess to get offended or complain or make a big issue out of this ?
Sometimes, I just have to facepalm and headdesk at the number of people who are being offended for the sake of other people.

Bioware has a thing for turning previously female only "romances" bi apparently
If they did manage to have the time to make Cullen bi I wish there would've been some dialogue to talk about questioning sexuality or maybe that he realizes he's bi (and struggles with it?) because he grows a thing for the Inquisitor instead of knowing right of the bat "oh yeah I'm bi.". I've been struggling with mine since only recently and it's somewhat upsetting that in the DA games most sexualities are immediately set in stone and like "oh yeah I knew this since I was born!".
At least I haven't seen any (bisexual) romances where the characters are like "ehrmahgerd, I'm bisexual? Whuat?". Maybe the signs are out there though, I'm pretty oblivious.

Lore friendly modding is best modding!
I have zero issue with people creating mods to get rid of the silly restrictive gates that Bioware stuck on the romances.
I don't like the notion some seem to advance that the Cass mod is ok but a Dorian one isn't. The only difference i see is a Dorian one would require a more substantial modification.
