Why use a mod when you can romance a character simply changing the gender of your own  character, and you know... roleplayng? is a GDR after all.

I find those who use mods to change sexuality of the NPC quite close minded actually. If a character is good enought to romance, it would not be the sex of the character to stop me (already done the Cass romance with a male elf). But I grow up with FF and many games with male protagonist, so maybe I'm already comfortable with playng a male character.

In a weird way the mod is similar to Dorian's dad's plan to change Dorian's sexuality with blood magic. MOD MAGIC :wizard:

Saying that, I have no feelings about the mod either way and I don't understand why people care. If you don't agree with it, don't download the mod.

I don't think the skin colour changing mod that someone posted about a page back is right, but I'm sure the reason it was created wasn't so white supremacists could play the game without being uncomfortable. If someone wants to mod their own playthrough and make any changes they want then fine. Someone talked about respecting the choices of the characters, but really? They're lines of code. They were created by Bioware writers who made a decision on their gender/race/sexuality, it isn't like they have free will and developed those things themselves. I can understand wanting to respect the choices of the BW writers though.

Ah... the good old times when you could do a Imoen romance mod and no one would give a **** about it or would question whether it was wrong or not.

Why did games had to become a matter of politics, morals and social science? Couldn't they remain just games?

No wonder that Obsidian didn't want romances in PoE.. they were right in trying to avoid all this fuss.

And I am saying this as a huge fan of romances, which is really sad.

For a fully immersive experience, the mod has prompts letting you know when to plug your ears with your fingers and when to remove them,

*Sticks fingers in ears* Lalalalalala, im not listening, lalalalalala. Cassandra is gay, lalalalalalala.

Again saying Bi Sera and Bi Cassandra is the exactly same and everyone that thinks differently is a hypocrite is really inaccurate. It is like saying rich people should get social benefits because the poor have them too.

The world does not work like that, we are not all the same or have the same level of privilege.

Regardless I do not like the mod, I prefer the canon which means I will never create a straight dude to romance Cassandra.

Oh the royalty here, strikes again, it's none of your business what someone does on their own machine, so many here just think the whole world is supposed to bend over and kiss their *ss, sorry free will doesn't work that way (don't care a flying blank who Cassandra sleeps with, it's a game)

^^Yes^^ it is just a game. You should be allowed to play it the way you want. If you don't like the mods, simply do not use them.

So pro modders, honest question:

If I created a mod to romance Kieran, you would all support that, right? Because I'd be doing it in my own space in my own game and not bothering other people with it. You wouldn't tell me what I can and can't do I would hope...

I would not support the mod itself, but neither would I attempt to tell you you can't make it and I'd argue against those who would. It's like free speech: I may hate what you say, but I'd still defend your right to say it. The same, as I see it, applies to all forms of art.

There isn't, one of the romance lines specifically says she wants a man

So she was gay all along!

....

You know, because of her jaw? And the hair? Like, how she's basically a man cause of her square jaw and the short hair, which is short like a man's?

Respect the characters, respect who they are, and respect their wishes, because to change them is to show that you never truly liked or respected who they were to begin with.

Yes Sherlock, if I change something, obviously I didn't like the original.

Agreed. If I want to mod Krem to present as female in my game, who cares? IT'S MY GAME.

I don't give a damn about Krem and I'd still load it to prove the point that people have no right to police others on what they can or cannot do in their own video games. It is hilarious seeing them think they have any form of authority over how other people choose to do what they wish

I envy the pc crowd for stuff like this! Still, I'm never too offended when the devs decide in advance what the sexuality of their characters actually is. It's still nice to see a bit of wiggle room like this to allow gamers to play as they see fit, and Cassandra's is a great romance.

Have fun ladies!

I don't have anything against it, though I find it little weird, but that's probarly because I personally don't have problems with playing as character of oppossite gender or with sexuality different than mine.

Also, it must be pretty awkward because

one of the romance lines specifically says she wants a man

Not to mention that your female PC romancing Cassandra won't be canon.

But anyways, some of you people really should loosen up a little, it's a game.  :)

Except in DA I straights and gays have the same level of priviledge, a Cass bi mod is as bad as a Sera one end of.

Having said that I'm not going to give someone a hard time for using this kinda mod even though I personally find it a tad creepy.

It does make you a hypocrite actually. The fact that you think privilege and people modding their own games have anything to do with one another says a lot. First world problems 101.

I'm pretty sure there were always people saying "eww" to those mods.
