Also maybe let us choose any VA for the PC even the wrong one.

Do you mean like a gender swap voice, like Pam Grier in Escape from LA?

Seems like that would require a lot of time and effort and maybe altogether impossible given that there aren't any options to flirt with her unlike in Origins, you'd probably have to splice things together to get it even look partly functional.

I was thinking you could switch out the body models and voices.

Are the people who get offended at mods and saying they do not respect characters also offended at fanfic shippers that create relationships between characters where none exist?

I don't see why this is a big deal. It's not cannon and it is just for fun. Also it doesn't impact anyone's game other than those using the mod.

Using a mod for fun is not the same as trying to force someone to be gay or straight in real life, or grow out their hair, or wear prettier dresses, etc. it's just a players version if a fictional world state that is more fun for them. Who really cares?

As a straight female who likes short hair (fauxhawks RULE), I couldn't agree more.

No, it really doesn't. It is not going to change her character for 98 percent of the player base and how this character will be written in the future.

Also how is this worse than the walking stereotype Dorian is without any mods at all? I think canon content should be critiqued far more than meaningless mods.

I think he is. He is practically written as the main female protagonists' gay best friend in a high school makeover movie.

I heard some people have been having trouble separating fiction from reality, now I see. Why do you care what somebody else does in their games? Are you afraid that Cassandra will somehow turn gay in your game? Last time I checked, I can assure you she's still straight in my game.

I generally don't care unless hypocrisy is involved.

Canon. :P

Some mods are a bit concerning to me.*the ever popular child killing mod for Skyrim*.

I only really care when the modder states it "fixes" or "improves" the character no...just no.

He's like a guy that most girls like to ship with another guy. I say "most" because ... you know it won't blow people's mind when somebody thinks the opposite :P

I agree with this. I think some mods are tasteless and maybe indicative of a sociopath and are not mods I would support.

I think advertising mods as simply options is not disrespecting the creators of the characters. There is a difference between "Cassandra Hairstyle Mod" and "Fix for Ugly Cassandra".

Is this the same thing as saying you care if other people use the Bi Cassandra mod?

Wanting new mods to be made for your enjoyment isn't the same as judging mod creators and users of similar mods.

Note: I am assuming you are actually asking for straight mods because you think this would be controversial. As a gay man myself I couldn't care less. If a girl wants the misfortune of having to date Dorian, have at it.

The way people justify them disturbs me*Basically they want to kill them because they're rude or annoying*

Yup intent matters.

And TBF most people aren't criticizing the mod itself in the first place but the hypocrisy of the LGBT community's attitude regarding it.

I am gay and do not agree with those who think that anyone who mods Dorian or Sera are bigots trying to remove LGBT representation.

I mean, the user very well could be Anti-LGBT, but it doesn't follow that a guy who wants to romance Sera hates lesbians and doesn't want them in his game. He just likes the character and doesn't want to create a female to romance her.

My opinion on mods like these are people can mod whatever the hell they want in their game. If you want to change character sexuality, race or something else. Go for it. I would never do it in a million years but these mod effect there games alone and not mine so I don't feel offended.

Yes. I don't see how modding can affect LGBT representation, especially considering how many people are actually using it (Bi Dorian mod thread has only 17 replies for example.)

Modding and making Dorian a romance option for female IQ do not change the fact that Dorian is gay in canon. Harassment that some modders like bi Cassandra modder received is totally unjustified.

F_ck representation. It's a game. It's entertainment, not a platform for political representation. Now people are feeling entitled to tell others how they should make out with a fictional character?

Install the mods you like and go mind your own business. You didn't buy the other players' copy of the game, so shut up about how others entertain themselves.

My problem with it is that it reveals what immature, gross people gamers are. When you start "modding" the characters, you strip away the veneer of gamers wanting story/character/experience and reveal that this is all nothing more than exploitative sexual fantasy. When modded, Cassandra doesn't exist in the same way that a character in a book/movie/tv series does, she exists as sexual fantasy. You're not romancing the character, you're romancing a puppet you have taken direct control over. And that reflects on all of us. Even if you don't want it to.

I don't really care about romance or whitewashing mods but I do judge people who use ugly headmorph mods e.g. that Zevran mod that makes him look like Aaron Carter.

I would like a straight Josephine mod where I can play as a homosexual female character who tries to flirt with her and gets turned down flat.

Just throwing that out there.

Also, I think if a person has no problem with Dragon Age featuring homosexual characters in the first place, then a mod to make a straight character bisexual or homosexual shouldn't be a big deal either. Again, it would just go back to being a matter of respecting the original storyline. But that would apply to all characters and sexual preferences.

Are the people who get offended at mods and saying they do not respect characters also offended at fanfic shippers that create relationships between characters where none exist?

Yes. In fact, I think that they are more angry at slashers than modders because a mod is private while a fanfic is posted publicly for others to see. In fact, I myself don't care about mods that make a character bisexual or homosexual, but I do hate seeing slash fanfics pop up for characters who are not homosexual and I have also left negative reviews with only that complaint.
