I have no idea. I tried to do a google search, but the only stuff that comes up is about ME:Next.

I think it's invented by the writers. Andromeda is not very well mapped.

Helios in mythology is a Greek god of the sun. He is the Titan preclude to Apollo. Interestingly the roman equivalent was Sol.

Its probably just made up, like the Skylian Verge and Terminus Systems.

All man. And I was about to get my astronomy on again, too.

Where is it located?

It is a fictional star cluster. It doesn't actually exist.

All man. And I was about to get my astronomy on again, too.

Yeah, the use of actual stars/nebulae/etc in the earlier games was a really neat treat.

It's supposed to be in the andromeda galaxy from the "poll/leaks"

I find it cute how they can "leak" plot details but can't "leak" working titles for the game.

I don't believe the game will be set in another galaxy.

If the leak is correct, its in Andromeda, and mankind hasn't mapped Andromeda much at all.  I don't think NASA or anyone has even attempted to yet.

I wonder how you responded to all the ME3 and DA"3" leaks!

Its probably just made up, like the Skylian Verge and Terminus Systems.

Those two aren't clusters, they're galactic zones made up of billions of clusters and nebulae.

EDIT: This reminds me, what's the point of having a galaxy map if we're limited to... what was it, a 100 light year radius? That's like having a map of the entire US when you're limited to a single county.

It'll either not be referred to as such, or it'll be referred to as-such only by way of a (perhaps ill-conceived) nod to the past.

That's a good catch - I had not thought of that.  We got downgraded from a galaxy map to a cluster map, or a local group map.

Assuming all details of the leak are accurate and we really are restricted to the area.

But yeah, that'd make for a pretty sad galaxy-map navigation experience.

It would at least help the universe feel larger though. Being able to hop in a Mass Relay and jump from one side of the galaxy to the other in a second just makes the Milky Way seem small.

If the Helius Cluster is larger than the areas that we got to travel to in ME 1 - 3, but that actual explorable area accounts for less than a pixel when compared to the galaxy at large, it would help bring that sense of scale back to the universe.

Less than 1% of the Milky Way was explored, but that was spread out across the entire galaxy. It's an incredibly small portion but your casual gamer will look at the galaxy map and say that we've see all there is to see in the Milky Way. I don't agree with that sentiment, but if you take a drop of water and smear it over a piece of paper it will look bigger than a drop of water left sitting in the middle of a page.

I don't mind it being in a new galaxy, but would be cool if it was an undiscovered cluster in the MW.

Maybe it's not a galaxy map, but a star map.

Would make sense if it's a new galaxy we're just starting to explore.

Besides ME1 had more than half the galaxy being inaccessible, didn't it? And ME2 was mostly centered around the other half. Visually anyway. Like Vortex said, the map isn't all that representative of actual space. So not really an issue I think.

You do realize that we are dealing with EA here. What are they known for? Hm? Can anyone tell me?

(Sigh)

DLC.

They never let a game finish before it ships. Remember how some locations in the Milky Way were locked in the first three Mass Effect's? And DLC's unlocked them.

We will probably get the most basic version of the next Mass Effect with chapters of the story missing. Then after a few months we will get a campaign DLC that adds more quest, new locations, and a possible new squadmate -- and that will go on for another few DLC's. Then after a year and a half, we will finally have the full game.

I do not mean to seem cynical, but you know that is the truth.

Maybe a couple years ago I'd say you are right, but things have thankfully changed since EA has had new management and a new CEO.  Look at the state of DLC for Dragon Age.  Only one so far, and all the rest have been free updates, even the single player one.

Also, Witcher 3 could be setting the precedent for free DLC in the near future as well.

But back on topic, Helius is likely a made up cluster of stars as NASA nor any other nation have done any star charting of Andromeda yet.  That I know of.

It would be cool if it turned out to be in the same neighborhood as those NASA images.

Yah, I mean, if you wanna know what each star is called, it's something like 1ZXRB3D.   Something weird like that.  The reason is that they didn't wanna run outta names (or they already ran outta names).

you do realise that titles dont always come first right? books have been finished and ready to be published without a title, A title is 1 decision that although it wouldn't be smart could be made up literally on the fly and would take 2 days of programming to change the text on the title screen and the credits. not a primary concern

Do you not remember the Inquisition survey leak? They only had the title narrowed down to 4 or 5 options at that point.
