I don't have it within me to do another run through the ME series but I noted from some videos that with the EC DLC, there is a chance that your squadmates will die under the flying Mako, including Liara. Is this correct or some fakery?
Which brings me to the question: if Liara can die in London and you choose to refuse the Citadel's options, what happens at the end where Liara would normally give her message to the future?
1. Yes, squadmates can die with the Extended Cut during the run to the beam, but it requires very low EMS (Effective Military Strength). You have to go out your way to do as few missions as possible (including no/few fetch quests).
I have done it, and watched as Liara and the other squadmate got hit with Harbinger's beam.
2. Liara's message is a recording, so if you choose refuse, she will still be the voice of the recording.
The dash toward the beam is the only time when Liara can die in the whole franchise.

Ah. That makes sense but I wasn't certain the beacons would be deployed without Liara there to drive it. It was her baby as it were.

I'd watched 'Blonde Shepard' do the run but wondered if it was genuine or not. Apparently so. Poor Liara. 
Though as someone has said above, you'd really have to go at it to fail that bad, unless previous 'plot armour' was a real bug-bear.

I've done many low ems playthroughs, and its not that hard. Its very easy to do. At least it is for me.
