Saddest and scariest: The ending of ME3. I was so sad because it was mind-numbingly moronic and scared because Mass Effect was my favorite game series so I was worried I might also be severely stupid.
Well... this was unexpected ![]()

Saddest: Mordin getting ready to ride the elevator up the Shroud in ME 3, and the different scenarios that can play out due to the players' choices. I dis-liked the pro-cure agenda of the Genophage arc, I disliked how the game presented anyone who questioned or opposed it's removal as stupid/racist, and dis-liked how the whole plot was set up to manipulate the players' emotions, but….. I still get misty eyed when Mordin turns to Shepard and yells: "I made a mistake!" ![]()
Scariest: Hmm. I guess I would have to go with the whole theme of our innate fear of the unknown; monsters living our in the void of dark space, etc. I would have a bit more to add, but having played Dead Space I know that there are far more scary/grotesque eldritch abominations present in interactive media that what we see in Mass Effect.

Saddest: Shortcomings in ME3 development.
Scariest: Nothing.
Creepiest: Collector ship and Derelict Reaper missions in ME2
Best: LotSB in ME2 and Leviathan/Citadel DLC's in ME3
Most dissapointing: Omega DLC in ME3

Overlord was eerie to say the least. I did play it during the night with all the lights off though, so that might have been why. It was pretty scary at the time though.

Saddest: Deaths of Mordin and Thane, Tali killing Legion and her dialogue afterwards
Citadel ending, normal ending (it hurt seeing Shepard in this state)
Scariest: Ardat-Yakshi monestary where everything is dark and you hear Banshee screams... well, generally anything with Banshees ![]()
Creepiest: Collector Ship, Overlord

What for you was the saddest/scariest part of Mass Effect? So far, it's watching Rila die in the monastery?

ME 1 some of those side quest especially the one for Garrus yeah that was freaky. More of that please. Noveria was creep especially after digging deep.
ME 2 Jacob and Jack's loyalty missions. Plus the Turian/Collecter base mission.
ME3 Banshees good lord did they creep me out.
ME was never really been scary for me now Dead Space on the other hand. Would I want it to be hmmm maybe a little bit.

Scariest: In ME3 when Kaidan smiles after you tell him you still remember the first night you spent together. Good god my soul. No but in all seriousness, Im serious. That animation though.
Keepers are sort of creepy and sad. And weirdly cute.
Saddest when you find David in project overlord. EDI and the "no matter how far we advance" talk. Makes me feel extra bad for pretty much always choosing destroy. And Legion
does this unit have a soul? My first PT of ME3 was botched because my save files were corrupted so pretty much the entire of me3 was tragic, especially when your squad gets reaped at the end and they reach out to you, nooooooo. I even feel bad for for that beetle collector thing in me2 when Harbinger releases control and its gross little beetle leg reaches out. Poor protheans. The end of Citadel DLC makes me feel empty inside. I love Mark Meer in this bit. Vigil and the hopelessness of the last extermination. Thats why i havent downloaded from ashes dlc. Would make meeting and talking to Vigil less for me?? Im pretty much a giant sap and could go on.

Thresher maws scared the crap out of me the first time around. Jack's loyalty creeped me out at first too. The Ardat Yakshi score is one of the best... adds to the horror of the whole situation.
Scary idk creepy.
ME 1 some of those side quest especially the one for Garrus yeah that was freaky.
I don't know why, but that Salarian cracks me up. "He's crazy! Please! Please!!"

Some of the abandoned stations in ME1 had this eerie feeling to them.

Absolutely no question: The moment on Mars where Liara says "I've found a weapon to defeat the Reapers."
Cue slow, sinking feeling in pit of stomach.
And it turns out, my fears were dead on.

Scariest? "We have dismissed that claim."
They're pretty interchangeable, though.

Saddest: "Guide this one to where the traveler never tires, the lover never leaves, the hungry never starve. Guide this one, Kalahira, and he will be a companion to you as he was to me."
Scariest: Not sure there was ever a moment where the games managed to scare me. But there were a few points in the series that were creepy/eerie. The indoctrinated Salarians on Virmire, the Collector ship, the Derelict Reaper, and the asteroid mining facility in the Leviathan DLC.
