Disclaimer:

In no way is this intended to out users of modded controllers.

That aside...

Just wondering if people have any opinions on the available aftermarket options.

My controller is a run-of-the-mill wired XBOX job.  But I am rather intrigued by what's out there:

  • Mapping RB & LB to underneath paddles
  • Ditching the f-ing D-pad for a 4-button array
  • Slapping on KontrolFreek thumbstick Yamakas to suit my large-ish hands

Just wonderin'...

Nope. I use what I'm given and make it work the best way I know how.

Nah, I still have the two that I've bought back in 2008. They're in a rather bad condition, but I'm not really using my 360 anymore anyway...

Mine are about 7-8 years old as well, but a leecher would pay good money for them, the analog sticks are so shitty, it's like haveing a built-in rubber band.

I tried a Razer Sabretooth it lasted a month before I had worn out the B button so I ended up getting another wireless MS 360 controller

I wanted the Sabretooth for the rockers as the 360 controller D-Pad was designed by a Desire demon - you think you are pressing for an Ops pack and out comes a missile - or you want a missile and no matter how hard you press that puppy isn't coming off your back - or by the time it has that kill streak chance has dissipated

The problem with the wireless controller is it messes up your headset - you get interference from the USB hub

With the Razer I was wondereing if it would reduce lag from wireless but never noticed the difference - before the B button broke it was much easier to select missiles, ops packs using the programmable rocker switches.

Meh, don't like the Xbox360 button layouts. PS3 one's more flexible. My fingers can multitask better on it.

PurpGuy still uses the controller that came with his Xbox 10 years ago

The Y button is a little unresponsive, and he wanted to fix it, but Microsoft are all assholes and put special screws in it so you can't take it apart without a special screwdriver

Mine is cannibalized from about three or four different controllers so I guess you could say it's modded. I expect the mother fucker to short out and blow off a hand one day. I got tired of paying for new controllers as I have a lot of time on mine and my kids are somewhat rough on them as well. I think I've ran through eight controllers on ME3 alone. Some have been scraped because this or that button doesn't work, one was giving feed back through the mic like an aircraft trying to land anytime I used charge based weapons.

I had an ahem "customized" headset for a while as well that made me sound like a Volus in game which always got several laughs before it decided to kick the bucket.

Razer Sabertooth. I just can't stand non-configurable buttons in games, a huge drawback on consoles. A third set of programmable shoulder buttons is a god sent if you often run around with a charged Acolyte and a character's power is mapped on the wrong side.

Oh, and the dpad. The person responsible for designing the original controller's dpad should be molested with an 10" soldering iron.

I wonder how Turians play with controllers. It must really be a chore with only 6 fingers total.

Obviously they use their claw hammer penis for reload canceling.

One time when I still had my Razer mouse, I did a macro for the CSR (and other click dependable ROF weapons) but that turned out sour because It looks that was also related to the frames.

Yeah, I have the damnedest time holding still; there's always a little forward motion. I don't know how many pugs have figured I was messing with them when I really was trying to revive them.

I've tried my PS4 Controller on PS3, ... but it feels,... I don't know, ... kind of wrong.

Been using the default ps3 controller for 2-3 years but it broke on me a couple days ago, waiting for a new one from Amazon.

I just use the standard **** and that's it but I do keep my sensitivity pretty high.
