Vault?
Vault?
There is a door to the left of where the vault would be.. creepy library is behind it.
Yea fixing up the hallway to the war table would be nice.. i get that they left it like that for light and whatnot but could they not have fixed it up as an arch or window or something rather than piles of stone and a crumbling wall.
I just want to be able to fix the holes in the walls and roofs.
^This, it drives me crazy knowing that the HQ of my organization is riddled with holes large enough for a qunari to fit through >_>
please tell me
they might do that.. make our Skyhold better an more awesome.. o.o
Skyhold was one of the biggest disappointments of this game for me. When they were talking about it in the build up, they made it seem like this amazing place that we were going to be able really customize and make our own. They also had me thinking that some of these modifications were going to be really meaningful. All we really got though was putting a sparring ring in the courtyard, a few extra flower pots in the garden, changing the windows and the throne and...a few other options.
Giving the players more ways to change Skyhold in DLC would be nice, but with the way that they hyped it up, Skyhold should have had such options from the get go.
Apparently BioWare believes Cullen's room shouldn't be repaired, even when he is the Commander of an army supposedly equal to that of powerful nations.
It wouldn't irritate me so much if it was just Cullen's bedroom. I can see him as the sort who just wouldn't care as long as he had a bed to sleep in. And the bed is mostly optional. What gets me is that it's also his office. So rain and snow is just falling through the holes in the ceiling and down through the cracks in the floorboards into his office. Where he stores and reviews various important documents related to running one of the most powerful military forces in Thedas.
That is what I cannot headcanon around.
Cullen is too much of an uptight workaholic to have such an untidy, inefficient workspace.
Let's not forget that if we choose Skyhold Garden not one of the numerous religious people think to tidy up the chapel area with the Statue of Andraste. It's almost like you can't believe in the Maker and like gardening. Oh well. Another thing on the list Divine Cassandra needs to change.
Even if you choose the Chantry courtyard the chapel is still a mess. I can forgive the holes in the walls, and tell myself the masons just have a lot of work to be done. But the state of the chapel when it's so easy to fix is completely immersion breaking. Is Mother Giselle too good to straighten a candelabra?
Am I the only wonders where your people actually sleep? There are some bedrooms, but far from enough for everyone.
Skyhold looks pretty in some ways, but the missed details really make it a somewhat disappointing homebase, in my opinion.
I really like Skyhold and love the idea that it is not fixed from the beginning but gets better and better over time. Apart from the major upgrades when you finish some of the main quests, in my game there are things that are still popping up in different places like new candles, new rugs, more banners .., ![]()
I just would like those little improvements that require some time to include things like:
* putting right all those candelabra that are laying on the floor (one in the stairs leading to your bedroom, one in the underground hall that leads to the kitchen/vault/library, one in the chapel, ...)
* fix the chapel: hang the big candelabra from the roof and fix those benches
* clean the cobwebs (the library, some corridors, ...)
* remove the blankets that cover furniture (my bedroom, Solas office, ...)
And of course, I'd love some major fixes like covering all the holes, improving all the rooms that are still a mess, moving all sick people to the infirmary if you have chosen to build it, fixing the dungeons, etc. But I would love it to be done little by little, either as time passes or having to spend some power to get them done.
I still wonder where the heck the dungeon go. As if they couldn't have even attempt the fix the giant hole below the castle. Where is my weapons rack? Why can't I upgrade my army's armor into something better? Why can't I hire a Maid the clean up the mess everywhere? If the hospital and fighting pit are in two separate areas, why can't I have them both? Where is my pet dragon? Where is the villagers I am suppose to rule over? Why can't I make the people pay taxes? lol Where my death ray?
As well as upgrades it would be nice to have some activities added to Skyhold as well.
Mini games with our companions like playing cards, chess, beating Iron Bull with a stick or perhaps a drinking game with the Bull's Charges.
After I killed my first High Dragon I could not help but imagine having a trophy room at Skyhold, a place to mount my Dragon kills or perhaps the armor and weapons of foes I've felled during the course of the game.
And maybe it's just me but I've always felt that my Inquisitor could use a pet at Skyhold, a Mabari, Nug or maybe a tamed Wyvern or something...?
Adding social activities that could be shared with companions or members of the Inquisition could add substance to Skyhold. It would also make upgrading far more useful as you could choose whether to upgrade this room to showcase your recent kills or a recreational area to share with companions.
Of course it's mostly just wishful thinking on my part and it's not likely to happen in DA:I but it's certainly something Bioware could maybe consider for future DA games.
But If Bioware could at least give me my pet Wyvern then that would make me one happy Wookiee. ![]()
Even after all this time I still can't believe everything isn't fixed and tidied up after the Arbour Wilds, Skyhold's repairs weren't realistic from the start, one trip to VR and suddenly scaffolds are up and the place is as clean as it's ever going to get, so getting to the end of the game and still having massive holes in the walls is very annoying.
That Quizzquisition bloke who apparently shows up when the vault is constructed actually appeared on my postgame file which didn't have a vault built. I found him on my original playthrough inside one of the rooms in the garden just last week.

This is what I would love to see in the game..everything this wookie said

I want to be able to turn that gaping pit with the scaffolding in it on the way to my quarters into an office. I'm the friggin Inquisitor and my desk is in my bedroom?! Cullen, Josephine, and Leliana all got offices! UNFAIR.
Also I totally need more bookcases than that. Like, ten more. At least.
