I have just started playing DAMP. Or, well, tried to. All of last night, and this morning I have been looking for games. But most of the time the game just pops me into a solo lobby. Or together with one other player, same player again and again. Managed to get into a few lobbies with actual people in them, but damn it was a struggle.

 

For reference I fired up ME3MP and got a full random gold game in under 10 seconds.

 

My question is: Is there some setting/DLC I am missing (I know this was a thing in ME3MP) or is it really like 5 ppl wordlwide playing this game? I would really like to get into this game, and I freakin LOVED ME3MP. Please help a fellow gamer out here...

ME3MP player base is most likely still larger than DAMP.

Still? Getting literally noone for hours? Is that truly the state of things? I was really hoping this was just me having missed to install something.

Its unconfirmed this MP is region locked (as far as I know). Where are you at?

It's definitely creating a region lock with the strict ping filtering. 

 

I have yet to play with anyone outside of Australia and New Zealand.

yes sometimes it can be rather hard to find people in this game. however before you give up hope make sure you have all the dlc installed for the multiplayer(destruction/dragonslayer).

I am in EU. My network isnt the best. Could it be that the game is disqualifying me even from other EU players because the round trips are too long?

Where in the EU? If you're in a small country isolated from people, you might find it harder compared to places like France or Germany. 

I'm currently limited to anyone within a 3 hour plane ride from my city and i have super internet.

 

Like takes me an hour to download 50gb and have pings of under 30ms to all Australian and New Zealand cities.

Happens to me a lot too and I am in the UK. Often I'll do a search (eg. threatening random) and frequently will find myself either in a lobby on my own or get some connection failed message and end back on the inventory/character screen. Doesn't seem any rhyme or reason to it. I naturally assume it is the fact there are no active lobbies, but this can happen at peak times too (at least what I assume are peak times).

Reinstalling destruction seems to have helped. Now at least I was able to get a lobby. Yay.

Just to be sure, you have Dragonslayer installed as well, right?

I play with same people all over again and again. Particularly during day, when mp is half dead. Seems to me that being thrown into your own lobby happens when you search for specific map. If I choose random, it won´t happen (I get connection error instead ).

As with ME3, what usually helps me is just go to quick search as soon as mp loads up, no checking equipment, crafting or visiting store, just hit the search button once you are in. If I am getting connection errors, I restart and go straight to search button again, once I am back in.
