"Evil"?

Indeed.

The arrogance to think some offspring of some demented possessed mage somehow grants the ability to dictate the course of history.

The indifference to the cost of their actions.

The vanity and ego required for it borders on the sociopathic level.

So yes.

Evil.

Not only her mind you.

The entire group you listed fits the bill.

Yeah but Origins' evil choices are kind of out there. I don't see even this version of Leliana agreeing with a lot of the off-the-wall shite you can do in Origins. Like, would our spymaster agree with sacrificing city elves for an increase in constitution? I doubt it.

Bioware games have typically had difficulty balancing moral choices, pragmaticism, and sensible Big Decisions. They've gotten much better with it in the last few iterations, but ME and DA have struggled for different reasons. ME struggled because the Paragon/Renegade division was vague and inconsistent. Dragon Age tends to struggle with Big Decisions in which there's a much more pragmatic or obvious answer of what's 'best,' and yet they still need to create some less pragmatic/'worse' options because they need choices. And since most 'good' choices are supposed to be workable, that leaves 'bad' choices as a default worse/incompetent option path that struggle to be justified.

Inquisition gets it a lot better, though. For the most part, any and all of the Big Decisions (Mages/Templars, Orlais Civil War, Wardens) have pragmatic grounds and reasoning for them, with any political rational being optional rather than core. The chances for the player to be an outright dick are fewer... but the options you do have tend to be more sensible.

Oh! And I suppose that the dudes who have made slaughterers and manipulated the history in the name of a god who either doesn't care a shiit about the world or is too busy not existing are better persons, aren't they? they are very brave destroying everything they fear and anyone who is not agree with them, like the Qunari, but when someone kicks their asses they run to hide and play to be victims.

The World isn't black or white, but grey, the difference between these sets of characters is that Solas and the Witches see it just as it is, while the Chantry's members will always pretend to be the good guys and they will do atrocities with no guilty conscience, something that the first set at least have shown to have.

By the vastest conceivable margin.

You citing "gray" morality doesn't make them any less monstrous, nor using religion as some sort of buzz word.

Neither of them aid your argument.

The Chantry meanwhile has contributed more to Thedas then anything any of those you seem to laud have.

From the circle to wide spread language, it has birthed the world around it. And that God you seem to mock is the only reason that Thedas is no longer a collection of territory to Tevinter.

And yet you'd seek to somehow diminish it and its God for being a religious institution and deity respectively.

You picked a horrid target for comparison.

Not really.

It's just the same whole "we will use religion like it's a different word" for shock effect argument.

It's petty and juvenile.

Ok, it doesn't really matter the measure one's "right way". Since Solas lead to the elves' current situation plus, two thousand years later, Corypheus, he is most certainly not pushing the world in the right way. He is destroying the world one f*ck up at a time.

Flemeth helped start the Mage-Templar War.

Yavana brought back flying, fire-breathing, gigant lizard who eat people.

Flemeth helped start the Mage-Templar War.

She also helped push Loghain over the edge, made it possible for the fifth blight to be ended...

As she said, sometimes she gives history a push. And sometimes a shove.

I don't know what that is.

Nor do I care overly but I'll point out one fantastical trope.

If it bleeds it dies.

It's Jean Gray's grave, and I'm making a joke.

And I'll counter that trope with one of my own:

every good villain has an out, even from death.

Hell, every hero too. Which is why comic book characters never truly die.

Ahm, this... i don't think you are the right person to talk bad about sociopaths, early in this thread you made pretty clear that you are one.

Oh! And I suppose that the dudes who have made slaughterers and manipulated the history in the name of a god who either doesn't care a shiit about the world or is too busy not existing are better persons, aren't they?

Chantry is a bigger organization than witches of the wilds, there is a plenty of shitty persons like meredith, petrice, alistair, ser vanel and lord seekers lucius and lambert, but there is also good people like sebastian, eithina, mother giselle and greagoir.

Aside that many claim that flemeth and andraste are the same person, if its true, that would turn her into a monster who has been pushing zealots and mythic creatures to fight over the years, endangering her own daughters in the process.and better than all of you get out of the religious business fast, soon we will have some dudes talking about the real inquisition.

Cassandra said that war had already begun, anders and meredith were the last straw and they would happen regardless hawke.

And... there's the sociopath troll... again.

It's against site rules to call names you know?

Besides, it doesn't do much for your argument when sociopath and troll are the only thing you say.

This isn't tumblr

I'm going to disagree with you on a couple of characterizations (Eithina was less than useless, completely contributing to the issues in Kirkwall, and Alistair is not shitty.)

But iirc she didn't say the war had already started as much as the actions at Kirkwall were tinder due to the revelation of the cure for Tranquility. It would have happened if Kirkwall had not, too much pressure for anything else.

I doubt site rules are enforced on name calling unless it's a slur best to just ignore them when it devolves

Wait... what? are you threatening me or something? until today you haven't used any argument and you spent time on the thread talking about kill things in an obsessive way that is kind of sick or an effort to bother the others, and up there i saw you calling names ^ the same would apply to you.

I didn't need a argument.

Killing mages with delusions of grandeur is it's own argument.

Beyond that, I don't insult posters, cite a single instance of that in this thread.

Finally.

I'm merely pointing out site rules.

Ehm, what about the mabari whose head you said you would pin in alistair's death body or something? mabaris just have nothing to do with witches.
