Bug? Glitch? Getting no health after waves

I only started playing ME3 multiplayer recently, so my experience with the game is very limited. But my boyfriend who is playing the Turian Sentinel is experiencing a strange and quite annoying thing: After we've cleared a wave, he rarely get's his health back automatically, maybe 3 times in the ten/eleven waves of one match. Of course he could just take an ops kit, but as we've just started ME3 MP, we don't have too many consumables and we'd like to preserve those for the time when we start playing on silver difficulty.

 

I'm not sure if it's a bug or if it's related to something he's doing (wrong). I'm under the impression that usually between waves one is supposed to regain lost health automatically. For me (Vanguard) it's working very reliably, I even get full ammo most of the times. First we thought it might be related to the Tech Armor (not getting health if it's enabled during this phase), but he has promoted his character since and not levelled Tech Armor at all and it's still happening.

 

Has anyone experienced this? Is he just terribly unlucky?

I doubt it's tech armour. I've had my health start off only half full at the start of the match, which seems lag related, but I haven't noticed this.

Which platform? And are you hosting or is he?

You only get a little bit of health back, depending on the difficulty you play on. I know on Gold it's two bars.

Depends on difficult as said already how much you get back. Lingering DOT effects can make it where you do not get any at all. If you're dead and are revived by the start of the next wave you get no health on higher difficulties, no idea on lower ones. Plat is a single bar of health, gold is two bars.

Effectly there are three values:

1)Zero health also known as "HE DEAD"

2)Badly injured also known as "goddamn it I can't see"

3)Somewhere above one bar also known as "I get one more gate before I'm dead"

Wow, so many answers after only a few minutes. You guys are great! :)

 

We're playing on PC, I'm hosting, because I'm playing Vanguard. We're playing on Bronze, and it's just us two in the party.

We're usually playing Cerberus on the Glacier Hazard map (with the seeker swarm), but it happend on other maps too.

 

Another very strange aspect of this bug or whatever it is: Sometimes, when his health is down after a wave and he get's cought by a grenade in the following wave, he'll loose his shield as it's supposed to be, but gains health. Not a full bar, but a fraction of the next higher bar, so it fills up once he gets to cover. So maybe it's just a display error??

You're right, it's not Tech Armour. At first we suspected it, but since he hasn't taken the power when rebuilding his character after promoting and it's still happening, we know that it's not to blame.

 

Maybe you're right and it's indeed lag related. It happened to me once too. but I can't remember who was hosting at the time. But if it's indeed lag, there's nothing we can do about it, can we?

As we're playing on Bronze I think we should get all the health back? At least my Vanguard does almost all the time.

Maybe it's DOT, we'll have to keep an eye on this. On the other hand, we're playing mostly against Cerberus, and the only DOT damage is the heavy blast from the Atlas, I think. But it happens in earlier waves too, before Atlases are spawning. But we'll keep this in mind, thanks.

I guess the way to test is to play a game with him hosting and see if he gets his health back normally and/or you don't get yours.

Ah, it's a display bug. Sometime I see my health at 50% after a wave but it's actually full. Once the shield goes down, the health jumps up to 100% again.

 

Seems like there's some lag, so the display doesn't update properly.

Here's how it works if it's not obvious yet:

 

LolBronze - Replenishes all health when revived or after finishing a wave.

 

LolSilver - Replenishes 3 segments of health when revived or after finishing a wave.

 

LolGold - Replenishes 2 segments of health when revived or after finishing a wave.

 

LolPlatypus - Replenishes 1 sement of health when revived or after finishing a wave.

Bronze= Full Health restored   ..Silver= Full Health restored      Gold= 1-2 Bars of health restored..if you are lucky

At extremely high frames, shield regen can get screwed up but I think that's something to do with how the recharge mechanic on shields are. A low shields character like drell or similar could see some shield regen issues at lower than 120 FPS as I remember. Not sure if high frames would effect health regen between waves though?

 

Also curious at why you get a bar of health back on Plat when someone joins as well in the middle of a wave? How is health regen coded?

I've seen some issues with this over the years (admittedly rearely), I'm pretty certain in a few cases it's host lag related.

The Jugg has so much health that sometimes when starting a match, you only have 2-3 segments of health at start.
