Anyone using the tactical camera? Since the newest patch there is a chance in every battle, that one of my charakters (HC or Parymember) get stuck. He doesnt move and cant attack. If he dies the icon switches to the red skull but he still stands there frozen on the battlefield. When that happends I have to go out of tactical camera and use the jump button, then get back in tactical camera and whait till the bug appears again.

On the small encounters its no problem. But I cant do any bossfights this way. The dragonbattles take long time in combat, so the bug appears several times. Just randomly at one of my charakters. I dont notice that and BÄM the charakter is dead.

That happened to me last night. I was at the Grand Villa Fortress and was in tactical mode and when I started up the battle again, Cole was stuck and nearly slaughtered! I had to gain control of him and make him jump to unfreeze him.

I've had this happen twice, no three times. I'm not even fully patched. I just gave up on tac cam completely.

I don't have it happen just in tactical battles for me. It became noticeable while I was playing as a melee character (because I was up close unlike when I was playing as my archer) but Iron Bull would get frozen and I'd have to switch to him and force him to use an ability otherwise he was completely stuck. Pretty frustrating. I've also noticed that my party members sometimes just stop attacking for no reason unless I manually tell them to attack an  enemy.

I think activate an ability dont work in tactical camera. And I always use it for every battle. Thats is (was) the DA Feeling for me.

Seems to be a bug, then I better report it. ^^

Yeah this happened to me a few times last week, made my nightmare runthrough of JoH even more of a nightmare to try and do without dying, since some characters started to get all quicksanded the moment I tried to do anything in tac-cam.

Sounds like a bug to me?

Something happened with the latest patch.

It's not exclusive to tactical view (I see it occasionally in exploration view, especially on long fights as you note) and seems to mostly affect melee characters (I've never seen a ranged character get stuck at least).

Forcing them to jump seems to fix it, and I've heard that self-targeted abilities can also get the characters unstuck.

Yeah, I've been noticing this as well.  Using an ability that force a character move like fade step of grappling chain seems to unfreeze them.

Ditto. Noticed this a number times in JoH after the patch. To un-stick them I'd select them and jump which seemed to un-freeze them.

I guess they were working on fixing the Hold Position command during that last patch. :P

Genius idea! Have them "Hold" in the middle of a slaugtherfest.

Also I noticed something odd in the Hissing Wastes. I ran into a hunter with a dead animal at her feet. As I was talking to her, my Inquisitor was frozen. She could not move, jump or anything. She was just stuck between the dead animal and the hunter. I had to reload because nothing made her move.

To unstick, switch to isometric view, then jump.  Switch back to tactical and all is well.

I've seen that once as well (also in the Hissing Wastes, and I think also talking to the hunter).

I just switched to another character. I can't remember if the problem went away on its own or if I just waited for the next auto-save and reloaded; I was just messing around for a while, so I wasn't paying much attention. It's not something I've ever seen anywhere else, though (it's not the same as this issue of freezing up in combat).

When it happens to me in the Hissing Wastes, I'm talking to the requisition officer in the camp south of Bettyar's.  So far, the only thing that's worked for me is to jump to a different camp and come back, avoiding the officer.  I can control other characters, so I should try running one into teleport range to see if Inq unsticks.

Is that the first camp? It was near there for me, before I reach the sign at the top of the dune when I first enter the location.

I agree with many that Tactical camera is not the source of the problem, but may indeed trigger.  Personally, I'd like it removed, but as if some saving grace, there have been a few spots that you need it to activate things that are otherwise troublesome - those pesky items that are hard to pick up for instance.

Happened to me today the first time. I bought & installed JoW and started adventuring through the Frostback Basin and whenever I was in a bigger fight (more than 3 enemies) one of my charas got stuck.

I don't use tac cam for fighting, only to look at the weaknesses of my enemies, when I fight them for the first time.

Usually happens to me with melee characters, but sometimes Solas or Varric would lock up and do nothing.
