I usually go Widow, Adas, Arc pistol for my quarians. Both for theming, also because they stagger like a mofo.

If you like lore friendliness, she's also pretty much the only quarian I use the Reegar on (other than melee builds), and she rocks it pretty well. CB> meltface> incinerate for splosion and hiding the reload. Turret to CC things that are out of your range. The gun's actually fun when you don't throw it on a goddamn vanguard or winfiltrator, and thus actually need to work your way into range to use it.

Ayuh, I go with the lore-friendly QFI with the Reegar. Tremendously cheesy fun to be had with her.

This is the setup I use: Link
Your turret is your fitness. Versus phantoms, a combo of your turret and your powers/weapons will take them out relatively easily. Versus guardians, just toss the turret behind them and go about your business. Either the turret will kill them, or they'll turn around to attack it. An interesting fact I discovered recently; the turret's AP ammo also doubles its damage vs health. You have something for everything; the talon to deal with shields/barriers, incinerate+cryo for armor, plus incindiary booms for bonuses. One of my favorite classes, by far. Focus everything and you should be able to pull off 8-10k DPS, no problem.
Most intriguing...
I always have reservations about going into Gold with 600 or less shields. Only takes getting caught in one crossfire (especially from those m$@!*f+#ۥing OP Collector weapons) to lay me down flat. But... 'dat power damage... hmmm...

Saber with Disruptor rounds. Can go AP/Warp rounds if there are biotics involved.

Came here to say pretty much this. I max turret and go no fitness, but it doesn't matter that much.Arc pistol
Wraith
Adas
Venom
Eagle
CSMG
Eviscerator
Paladin
Talon
Falcon
The build I use is this. Depending on the gun, I use cryo or disruptor. Adas, falcon, venom get cryo - the rest get disruptor.

Split turret with fitness 4/4 and you still have that power damage. See if you comfortable with that.

All of this, especially the Eviscerator with disruptor rounds for that old school feel. I'd add the executioner to the list too.

Oh yeah, Black Widow with Phasic III works really great on her with Cryo Blast for max debuff because this setup is capable of single bullet headshots on practically every mook on Gold. Plus Cryo Blast has super fast cooldown even with the heavy BW. So have fun getting three headshots before reloading.
PS; Don't forget Geth Scanner when Sniping with Widow, BW & Javelin.
PPS; Don't forge to spec into the Drone, since it too have super fast cooldown and it help keeps enemies busy while you line up Cyo>BW headshots.
PPPS; you can actually skip Incinerate if you want. I don't because not enough respec card in this game.

Split turret with fitness 4/4 and you still have that power damage. See if you comfortable with that.
That more than halves the DPS of the turret, however. Four points in fitness doesn't even take you over the 990 threshold; it only takes you to 840, which is basically useless.
On the other hand, with a turret out, you'll be much less likely to get shot in the first place. With a stronger turret, you have more incentive to throw it more often and keep it out constantly. More turret=more awesome=more killing=less dying.
tl;dr Fitness is for scrubs.
Oh, and the claymore doubles your cooldown times. This character can have incinerates that do ~5500 damage per cast plus ~1000 combos, and you're putting the heaviest gun in the universe on it.
P.S. Claymore is also for scrubs.

There is nothing really special about 990, unless you are focusing on not getting shield gated by a banshee warp on gold.

Turret is solidly mediocre.
I have seen all sorts of grandiose claims about turret like that it staggers Phantoms and it invented the question mark, but really it is just ok for a little mook stagger every now and then. This is also why any investment in turret above Rank 4 is largely wasted.

I agree. The shock evo is useful for CC but really, that's the only thing it adds worth investing into. Incinerate and Cryo Blast should both be maxed and there's no reason not to max fitness, since the passives aren't even all that great.

While I think the description is pretty fitting, the turret can stagger Phantoms. I'm pretty sure of that... Why you say it can't?
Oh, and yeah, I too agree that any rank above 4 is pretty wasted. But I max it because I like to skip fitness and run around like a headless chicken shooting stuff ( ™ Lord Fortack)

Krysae with disruptor is surprisingly decent on her.
I spec 6/6/6/3/5 cause her passives are kinda garbage anyways...
