I don't see what the big deal. "This story is about rape." Isn't that what this is all about? Who cares if it says it?

Trigger this, trigger that, ...

Have people become such wussies that everyone needs to be protected from whatever they might not like? What's next, everyone's personal ID is going to display their assorted triggers? Are school classes being cancelled or remodeled to reduce the children's exposure to potential triggers?

This whole trigger business is one of the most gloryfied idiotic load of bull I've heard in a long time and it frankly scares me how it's becoming such a popular thing. Yes, there are things that some people don't like, yes, some people will get unproportionally worked up about some things, it's been like that forever. F*cking deal with it and continue being a functional being or hole yourself up in a sensory deprived, controlled environment where no one ever could trigger you for all I care, but don't try forcing this irrationally overblown sensitivity nonsense on people who're still somewhat mentally stable ffs.

It's mythology, next thing you know these people are going to start demanding "trigger warnings" on video games, on movies, on books, on other religious texts, on goddamn textbooks.

I say don't give them an inch and they won't take a mile.

I like that whoever wrote the article researched the subject enough to give a fairly reasonable take on it, although some of the "facts" they cite are pretty dubious.

In any case, the "trigger warning" nonsense is primarily a political tool to attempt to censor subjects which SJWs find offensive. As someone quoted in the article says, if you are so sensitive about a subject that you will experience PTSD if someone even discusses it near you, then you need therapy, not a "trigger warning."

“Such an insufferable breed of self-centered Care Bears.”

And such is the cursed House of Tumblr.

Once you start censoring cultured material, you're my enemy.

I'm genuinely terrified by the fact that people don't know what censorship means.

Okay no.

Lord of the Flies in the 5th grade needs a "trigger warning".

Classic mythology doesn't need a "trigger warning" for UNIVERSITY STUDENTS.

Seriously what the hell how sheltered and privileged ARE these kids?

Okay wait. I wrote that having never heard "trigger warning" and now I do know what it means.

So I rephrase.

Suck it up you sheltered, spoiled brats, the world isn't all about you, you aren't special, the world isn't going to stop talking about bad things just because it may have happened to you.

Indeed, you might say we're the walking dead. I honestly don't know what the **** happened. Till last year I had never heard of sjws and their tumblr crusade( I don't internet much ). Now it's everywhere, when did people become so overly sensitive and self centered?

Nope.

Last year, students at the University of California at Santa Barbara passed a resolution asking professors to put trigger warnings on class syllabuses and allow students to skip classes containing “content that may trigger the onset of symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.”

“Oberlin College has published an official document on triggers, advising faculty members to ‘be aware of racism, classism, sexism, heterosexism, cissexism, ableism, and other issues of privilege and oppression,’ to remove triggering material when it doesn’t ‘directly’ contribute to learning goals and ‘strongly consider’ developing a policy to make ‘triggering material’ optional,”

This, is what they're doing with trigger warnings. Using them as a means of phasing out "triggering material" from the curriculum, and eventually, circulation if nobody stops them.

It's certainly all off-topic can talk about nowadays, though I think their (whoever "they" even are) impact on society is being greatly exaggerated.

And hey... it's you again.

Why you keep leaving?

Then coming back a day or two later.

I wonder how these people cope with life outside their 'safe space' universities, and hugbox forums. Also...
