He had been in hospice for several weeks, and passed away this evening.

Sad to lose a blues great.

Darn shame. There's no such thing as replacing artists.

I hadn't listened to him directly but he did work with one of my favorite new artists, Big K.R.I.T.

R.I.P.

One of the greats, and an inspiration to so many musicians, may he rest in peace.

Requiescat in Pace

Rest in Peace

In paradisum deducant te Angeli; in tuo adventu suscipiant te martyres, et perducant te in civitatem sanctam Ierusalem. Chorus angelorum te suscipiat, et c-u-m Lazaro quondam paupere æternam habeas requiem.

May the angels lead you into paradise; may the martyrs come to welcome you and take you to the holy city, the new and eternal Jerusalem. May choirs of angels welcome you and lead you to the bosom of Abraham; and where Lazarus is poor no longer may you find eternal rest.

[edit] The censorbot didn't allow the latin word that stands for "with".

RIP. I was lucky enough to get to see him long ago. I didn't quite appreciate it as much I should though. I was just learning guitar and my old man brought me to one of his concerts.
