Well I have like almost all the decent equipments barring a few ultra-ultra rare ones like Sulvein Blade and Purple Daggers, but I reckon reading somewhere today or yesterday that BW has updated the chests so that now the drops you get will be some-what relative of your promotions/levels and time-spent playing etc., like a regular progression system - higher your levels, better your gear, in this case I suppose better chances at finding better gear.

Lemme find where I read that post, probably in one of the FAQ or Pinned posts, brb!

Edit:
Okay found it, here it is: http://forum.bioware...ried/?bioware=1

WOHOO! I crafted and dismantled 81 tier 3 staff grips and I got *drumroll* ... 3 heal on kill cloth . . =/

Seriously BioWare? Just be honest with us and rename that S**T to ULTRA SUPER MEGA RARE cloth tier 3 already. Because calling it common is just BS..

Did you salvage those 81 one by one or all at the same time?
I've noticed that whenever I've salvaged in batches of fives or tens I've found at least 1 cotton drop.
Having said that I have only salvaged Tier 1 upgrades though. But my assumption is the same theory should apply via-a-vis Tier 3 upgrades because fundamentally the drops are same three Silk, Weave and Cotton, albeit higher tier ones.
Could be wrong, obviously.

I salvaged them in 40, 20, 11 and 10 and at that point I just stopped.

That sucks then. IMO even the Tier 2 Cotton is decent, it gives 1.5% heal compared to 1.75% of the Tier 3 Cotton, just a 0.25% difference, not much honestly.

Yeah - think I'm going to aim for the Tier 2 cotton from now on instead.

Still - those cloth should really be re-labeled to ULTRA OMEGA SUPER GHOST RARE! (or just rare) because they are in no way common =p

The only disadvantage of Tier 2 cotton is that sometimes it gets rounded down. Mostly when the number of cloth needed for an upgrade is an odd number.
Currently I have like 12 of those(Tier 2 Cotton)! If only I had 1 more of the Tier 3 cotton I could've crafted that ridiculously high HoK Bow grip! :D

I used 12 Cotton and 6 Imperial Vestment Cotton for a total of 30% HoK. I think this should be plenty.

By the way, although this method works, the drop rate for cotton is ridiculous. It cost me over 500 leather and metal to make one bow grip.

Wow  that's a load of leather. I'm kinda happy with one or 2% less HoK! But yeah Tier 3 cotton is ridiculously rare.

No you're right, some armors did drop. I had a few drops for Templar, Reaver, Keeper and Hunter. And the one for Hunter was his Veteran Jacket(Chaser) which is top tier armor for him. But this was back in Dec-Jan.

I haven't seen any armor drops lately myself, but back in Jan/Feb they used to drop all the darn time.
They very well might have been removed or lower chance to drop. I've never seen the inquisition armors drop either.

I only crafted the base Master Hunter armor and I completed the entire set, Master and basic, via chest drops, all variations included. Same thing with Assasin and Alchemist.
