What songs would you love to hear in the next game?  I think the galaxy map theme NEEDS to be in the game... So much nostalgia, the theme is so calm and peaceful... Like the quiet before the storm.  In my opinion, it wouldn't feel right if I open up the galaxy map and the theme doesn't play ...

I am aware that each game has a different version of the galaxy map, but ME2's map theme is the best ...

Unfortunately we won't have a galaxy map in the next Mass Effect.

I think the galaxy map and vigil are the two most iconic themes of the trilogy and should be in ME:N. Other than that, there's sort of a 80's style synth renaissance going on atm, so there should be plenty of inspiration for whoever makes the rest of the track.

I know right? The video at E3 last year showed a galaxy map.. And with the galaxy map being another iconic part of the series, doubt they would remove the option for the player to access it...

If the game takes place in a single star cluster, why the hell would we have a galaxy map?

Checkmate, galaxymapeists.

They are possibly removing races, iconic technology like the Mass Relays, and even the Milky Way itself and everything in it. I don't think anything is safe from being removed.

We're still going to need a map:

A cluster can still contain a lot of stars.  It's probably be called a Starmap, and look like the one we saw in the pre-alpha footage last E3.

As for music from the Shep Trilogy, I think I've heard Virgil's Theme and the Galaxy map Theme enough. Wouldn't mind if they appeared as easter eggs in the next game though.

remember the cluster thing is a "leak" until BioWare says otherwise

That was a galaxy. Clusters don't have arms.

The leak is looking more false by the day. We've been to star clusters (voyager cluster) and they rarely have more than a handful of planets. Unless Bioware is really planning to shrink the scale of the next Mass Effect to take place in a single cluster with less planets than we have fingers... it sounds more like DLC scale than a game scale. Sounds like whoever created the leak used poor terminology.

You should inform the good people at the Harvard College Observary Bulletin of your superior knowledge, since they seem to be labouring under the delusion that Messier 92 (which that is a picture of) is a globular cluster.  Here is another picture of it:

I think they meant the image of the holographic map we saw was of a galaxy, not a cluster.

In that case, oops.  Looking at the E3 shot again, there are features that could be arms, I suppose.

On topic: I wouldn't be adverse to another Faunts credits theme.

That tune that plays when Keith Davi... err "Captain Anderson" says "I'm proud of you Son/Girl/Commander" because that scene was such a tear jerker and that song was so sad. :(

I would also not mind a return of "I was lost without you" a.k.a the ME3 romance/Fleet & Flotilla theme. Also music for when I am walking around the NOT-Normandy 3.0 because honestly the silence in ME2/3 was kind of creepy. :o

Star clusters contain between hundreds and thousands of stars, most of which are likely to have multiple orbiting planets.

The Normandy was barely scratching the surface of each cluster it visited, since it only visited between maybe one and six star systems per cluster. The Voyager cluster would have hundreds of star systems that the Normandy didn't visit.

Whether the Milky Way or Andromeda, you could set an entire game in a single cluster and never run out of places to visit.

Keep the galaxy map music, it is too iconic and powerful to be left out. The rest? New music with the style of ME2 Arrival and ME3. And please, for the love of god, actually play the soundtrack! Unlike what you did with DA:I and ME3.

I actually did not mind the quiet. Soft ambient music would have been great, but the quiet was fine, too.

Perhaps a toggle-feature would cater to both sides   hurray for compromise!

Maybe an option to play tunes from the original trilogy while walking around the ship similiar to the mp3 thing in Shepards cabin but ship wide.

Well not exactly in-game music. But, I honestly hope we get another Faunts song.

And since we got M4. Part II at the end of Mass Effect which was the first in a three part "adventure". I vote we get M4. Part I at the end of the beginning of THIS new adventure.

(But also because I just like Faunts)

I want the Galaxy Map music to return definitely and assuming the Ark is our main hub world there can be a ambient radio station playing all sorts of music (snippets rather than full length songs) to give the different races a bit of home. And naturally random npcs complain about it for one reason or another.

I hope the Mars track gets brought back, just how they reused music from the Overlord DLC in ME3.

...or the track that plays on Ilos.

They should use previous ME music sparingly, when they wish to evoke the previous games.
