Okay, this is kinda embarassing but... here we go! I've recently gotten very fond of Solas, and I really enjoy talking about his journeys and his connections to the Fade. I just really wanted to flirt with him, you know...? So I looked it up on the internet and you apparently have to be a female elf to flirt with him and I'm currently a female Qunari and I would reeeaaalllyy like to get in a relationship with him. So... I just recently arrived at Skyhold, should I replay the game and choose a female elf or should I just let it go and keep going on with my female Qunari? Is it worth it?

Would appreciate some feedback!

I abandoned my first human rogue playthrough because I decided I had to romance Cullen as a human mage, and then I put that playthrough on pause right before the last big story mission, because I decided I had to romance Solas.

I regret nothing.

Take that as you will. :D

Lol have fun both ways! I first played as a Female Human Mage and romanced Cullen, and Solas became a dear friend. I got curious about his romance though, so on my next PT I played a Female Dalish Mage and it was lots of fun too! Now I'm Romancing Blackwall on my 3rd PT as an Dalish Elf Rogue Archer. If you are curious, just watch the vids, if you want to enjoy it first hand, just save your game and make a new game. As his friend or romance, it's pretty good, but the romance adds a small bonus CC-wise that you can only get if you romance him.

I have to agree, if your an elf you get all the options in terms of romance.

If you played your cards right, you can romance most of the character (except cassandra or dorian) in just one play through.

I'd say elf offers the most throughout the story.

Finish the game. Do another playthrough as a female elf to romance Solas.

To make the playthrough different from the previous playthrough, take different companions on a quest you didn't previouly for different dialogue.

I really liked Solas, too. I was surprised at how much I dug his character, but alas, he was race gated. I decided I'd just romance him another time since I wasn't budging from my dwarf, especially on first playthroughs. Weight what you enjoy more overall -- the race you play or the romance you desire and decide accordingly.

In my first game my female elf mage flirted with everyone for as long as she possibly could., before I finally decided on a Sera romance. Her relationship with Solas went downhill pretty fast after that, heh.

My next game, after my current female qun'ari *ahem* rides the Bull so to speak, will feature another elf mage who will romance Solas. I'm curious about the romance too, but not enough to restart -- my qun'ari has just recently reached Skyhold as well, but I like her, so I'm gonna finish her journey first.

Female elf > female Qunari

Lies.

Badass horned women >>> Three Isabelas and half a Leliana.

If you want to romance Solas then I suggest you leave your lady Qunari for the present (you can always come back to her) and start again with an elf.    Then you can experience the full extent of the Solas romance.   That way each stage will be totally new to you; otherwise you will already know much of the story through the friendship path.

As a female Qunari I believe your romance options are limited to Bull and Blackwall, if you are straight, Sera and Josephine if you are not.   If none of these options seem to appeal then that is all the more reason for you to begin again with an elf.

I would recommend starting a new character and playing as a female elf, but that's because I like playing elves and I'm a Solasmancer.  His romance is probably best experienced on a first playthrough, but don't let that stop you from playing as a f!Quanri if that's what you want to do, and how you want to play the game for a first game.

I think Solas romance is best experienced on the first playthrough as well, that's what I did and have no regrets.

If you REALLY want to romance Solas, and you will be playing your fem Qunari and thinking "Gee it's a shame I can't romance Solas on this character" the entire time, then I do suggest making a fem elf. Just envision playing the game with your Qunari and see if that is how you want things to play out.
