Gone the last four without anything good, just common whites. Picked up a issy and dragon staff in one game and thats my haul from all hunts. Hoping for a dragon maul, have no good two handers and really want to play with the Avvar with his cool upgraded armor

because of the Dragon weapons it has become very easy for casual gamers like me to get the very best weapons

It's a valid concern.
I'm in the same boat as I got the Greatsword of the Dragon yesterday.
While fun, the Reaver is completely OP in threatening with it. I can just dragonrage all day.

I wouldn't say too easy. RNG can still be a nightmare getting the complete set together.
Pugging perilous dragons can be time consuming and frustrating at times. It takes dedication and effort.

Threatening is just a stepping stone to Perilous, just as Routine is a stepping stone to Threatening.
After playing enough, the only difference between Routine and Perilous is the gear. It's just as easy to steamroll Perilous without any promotion as it is to steamroll Routine. The only things you really need to succeed in Perilous are good gear (which doesn't mean you need best in slot), good strategy and communication between teammates.
People should stop complaining Threatening is "too" easy, it's not there for you to stick there in a normal progression curve...

I'm glad that they rolled out the new schematics and I think it was necessary for the reasons you state. The new schematics really open up gear customization. You now have a lot of weapons that are in ballpark range of the dragon weapons opening up your choices based on other needs (e.g. no HoK rings) or interesting procs. Maybe you have a skill ring you would like to use but you need the slot for a crit chance ring? You now have flexible options.
