One of the failed attempts to fuse the pulp comic narrative with the one of a movie. It's not even the worst movie of his age (maybe) but it's surely goofy and pathetic.
I thought it was all very unconvincing.
Sure, the first question is to understand what people mean by "to be a hero".
Speaking of Man of Steel, and putting it by common standards, I could be considered a hero for having set the table for lunch. I'm a superhero only when I'm doing it in the worst day of my life, while I have cancer plus HIV, and for people I hate with all my heart and I want dead.
Move it to a person with superpowers, and you got the analogy. There is no merit in doing something, even amazing by human scale, if you can do it without effort or sacrifice.
Maybe David will grace this thread with his presence so that we can learn what "being a hero" really means!!!

I've liked the trailer and since it's being produced by the same guy who makes The Flash I'll give it a chance.

He's just ridiculously over-powered. And i never liked his story arch even when i was a kid. Batman on other hand, ....
I have a feeling this will be one of those shows that has some drastic changes during it's first season. Note this really isn't anything new as there are a number of successful TV shows that had very fluctuating tones or content in there first season as they try to find what works, wouldn't be surprised if they do a cast change (again has happened in the past)
I'll give it a watch when it shows up in the UK. I've never followed the Supergirl comics much, mostly because I prefer team books, but is this sister of Kara's someone in the New 52 or made for the show? I thought most versions of her had Kara taken in by the Kents.
Also with the different networks in the states, it seems there's no hope of crossovers with Flash.

CBS and the CW are owned by the same parent company so it's possible for crossovers to happen.
Edit: There was a planned crossover with Arrow (CW) and Constantine (NBC) before the extra episodes for Constantine were axed. Also, there are still plans in the work to have Constantine do a crossover on Arrow even though Constantine was cancelled (hopefully with Matt Ryan reprising the role).
There does seem to be a resemblance between Kara and Felicity Smoak...
