Exactly MAKE HER A CHARACTER FIRST AND A FEKIN XX CHROMOSONE SECOND.

the problem i have is out of the many Supergirls out there. this appears to be the weakest one there is character wise. even the batshit 80s movie had a better character.

The fights were pretty good at least, and I like where they're going with these live action DC heroes. They've brought these g-men in blacks to monitor and regulate super heroes, which makes me think there is going to be some justice league movie similar to what was seen in the CADMUS vs JLU towards the end of the animated series which I'm definitely looking forward to.

I think I can get over the bad impressions if it's just this one episode full of stupid lines "she can't defeat elite kryptonian war veteran because she is a GRILL!!!" and other face palm moments that no superman director would consider on account of having a dick.

Physical appearance and costumes[edit]

Power Girl's original Wally Wood artwork (1976) showed her as relatively busty but otherwise her figure and build conformed in appearance to other contemporary comic book women. However, in Wonder Woman #34 (2009), written by Gail Simone, Dinah Lance, the Black Canary, mentions Power Girl as having the top bosom of DCU, comparing her assets with a "national treasure".[68] Her classic suit is one of a skin tight spandex white leotard with very high cut leg holes and an opening in the chest.[69]

According to character writer Jimmy Palmiotti, "Okay. When the character was created Wally Wood was the artist that drew Power Girl, and he was convinced that the editors were not paying attention to anything he did. So, his inker said every issue I’m going to draw the ****** bigger until they notice it. It took about seven or eight issues before anyone was like hey, what’s with the ******? And that’s where they stopped. True story."[70]

Power Girl was at one time portrayed as having a highly athletic but slender physique.[71] Artists Bart Sears (in the Justice League Europe series), and later Alex Ross (in the limited series Kingdom Come) restored Power Girl's well-endowed shape. Ross rendered her as a heavily muscled Power Woman (as if an ardentbodybuilder).

The character is consistently depicted as a large breasted young woman, and her physique is one of her most recognizable attributes – to the extent that various writers have acknowledged it in both serious and humorous ways.[72][73]

For example, Justice League Europe #37 (1992) attempts to explain Power Girl's revealing costume by having Crimson Fox question her about it; she receives the reply that the costume "shows what I am: female, healthy. If men want to degrade themselves by staring, that's their problem, I'm not going to apologize for it."[74]

Conversely, in JSA: Classified #2 (2005), writer Geoff Johns has Power Girl explain her cleavage-window to Superman, revealing that "the first time I made this costume, I wanted to have a symbol, like you. I just…I couldn’t think of anything. I thought eventually, I’d figure it out. And close the hole. But I haven’t."[75] A similar treatment of the character can be seen in Superman/Batman #4 (written by Jeph Loeb), in which the heroes need to distract the Toyman while Batman and Superman battle Captain Marvel and Hawkman. Batman suggests that Power Girl's endowments would be likely to distract Toyman, a thirteen-year-old boy. Toyman later attempts to make a reference to the size of her chest before being cut off by Batman.[76] A variant of this joke is included in the Superman/Batman: Public Enemies movie.[77]

Power Girl's costume design has varied greatly over the years. Her classic costume design from All-Star Comics #58 is that which is in use today: a red cape and belt, blue gloves and boots, and a white bodysuit sporting a cleavage-exposing window on her chest (its variable size and shape determined by the artist depicting her). This cleavage window was closed for the first time in All-Star Comics #64, pencilled by Wood.[78] According to Gerry Conway it was dictated by publisher Jenette Kahn, because "she felt it was sexist".[79] During her time with Justice League Europe/America, she wears a capeless yellow and white spandex unitard, and later a blue and white spandex unitard with a short mini-cape, headband, and a diamond shaped opening on her chest, once again exposing her cleavage. She has also worn a headband, as had Supergirl prior to her death in Crisis on Infinite Earths. In a guest appearance in Green Lantern, Kara is seen in her large wardrobe closet with every costume design she has ever worn in DC continuity, deciding which costume to wear for that mission.[80] Her original costume returned when Johns andDavid Goyer had her rejoin the JSA.[43]

In Justice League: Generation Lost #16, she sports a variation of her traditional costume, that includes pants.[81]

As part of the New 52, Power Girl was reintroduced into the DC Universe as first being the Earth-2 Supergirl, where she wears a variation of the traditional Supergirl costume designed by Kevin Maguire[82] that features a new S-shield, which is the same as the new Earth 2 Superman's, and has a cape that attaches directly to the shield. She also has red gloves and a red belt. However, some aspects of her continuity have been retained – she was still adopted by Clark Kent and Lois Lane, married on Earth 2 before their deaths and still uses "Karen Starr" as her secret identity, as well as still being a software entrepreneur.[83] After some time passes, she decides to take on a new identity as she is now trapped on the mainline DC alternate Earth. Here she adopts the identity Power Girl, where she wears a white one piece body suit that covers her legs, with blue stripes along her sides. She also has a red cape that attach to a new P-shield symbol over her left breast.[84] InSupergirl #19, she returns to her classic costume, complete with the opening on her chest, after her then current costume gets badly damaged.[85] Later, when back in her home world, she discovers her cousin and adopted father Superman has been resurrected by Darkseid, but Superman sacrifices himself to help stave off Darkseid's attack on Earth. After his second death, Power Girl's adoptive mother Lois Lane (Red Tornado) gives her the S-shaped hope symbol from Superman's chest, which then becomes a part of Power Girl's costume.[86]

So apparently the Premiere episode got leaked in it's entirety online six months before the official premiere in November.

Guess you can do a few things about this:

1. Ignore it though it could hurt the build up to the official premiere.

2. Release the series earlier then planned to take advantage of the current interest.

3. Look at what people are saying about the episode and re-edit or re-shot scenes that people have problems with and make adjustments accordingly for future episodes.

4. Leave the first episode and focus on later episodes to make changes based on negative/positive feedback.

If i'm not mistaken, The Flash pilot was also ~leaked~ too many months before the actual debut of the series.

There's more if The Escapist is to be believed:

Random waitress:
Can you believe it? A female hero! It's nice for my daughter to have someone like that to look up to!

Supergirl:
If we name her Supergirl, something less than she really is doesn't that make us anti-feminist?

Generic villain:
-In my planet females bow before males
Supergirl:
-This is NOT your planet!

Leader of super secret good-guys organization:
-She's not strong enough!
Supergirl's sister:
-Why, because she's just a girl? That's exactly what we're counting on!

There is a game... Injustice: Gods Amongst Us?

Wonder Woman there is the best Wonder Woman ever. Except for few last cartoons i guess. Because of the shape of her body. Fit, broad shoulders, warrior like. I am looking at her and i know she kicks ass.

Same reason i like Power Girl more. Same sport like body, body that can kick asses backwards if need be.

Spoiler

look at her left shoulder, some piece of armor. (dat smile ^^)

You know... Super Girl had her issues with humans. Because in her eyes humans were lesser beings. So i would rather watch series where Super Girl learn to protect humans and live with them. Instead of another... well... hero in disguise, grey mouse alter ego type of thing.

Even Jimmy Olsen is black now... all the sudden.

i think it would be more like seeing all of them as haveing that butterfly syndrome some people have.

like the world is made of cardbord and she has this frustration of always holding back. like a Horse that wants to kick loos but is tied to a post. yeah a Comet the super horse refferance.

this isnt jimmy olsen, its JAMES olsen. where jimmy is the laid-back, easy goer roommate, james olsen is the business savvy co worker

Never cared for the character... a byproduct of the cheesy CCA era of comics. Might as well make an adaptation of Archie Comics while we're at it.

Make a Catwoman show and I'd watch it.

I would have said that if I agreed.

Supergirl is a product of the 50s trying to make comics more family friendly. It'll always have that legacy to it. Same with the Clark and Lois stuff and Jimmy Olsen stuff. It's just cheesy. It's never lived it down.

Catwoman comes from the darker 40s period. Totally different. Just like the movies were better before the 50s too. Lots of femme fatales and stuff.
