(nb: I'm only talking about the operations that require power and complete instantly, NOT the ones that simply operate on a timer and produce some sort of reward).

 

Does it make any difference at all which of connections, secrets and forces you choose to use to complete those? I can't see any way that it does, but if it doesn't I can't figure why there is even a choice. I don't think it is important, mind. I'm just increasingly curious.

I think you get a choice only because two advisors may already be on a long mission. So you don't have to wait for 2 hours to open up a new area.
