You should try it with a city elf. I can just imagine Zevran's reaction when my Warden introduces Zevran as her not-actually-married husband to her father after saving him and asking him to give them his blessing.

I'm actually considering a DAO PT in the next week or two, but I'm leaning toward a Brosca-Zevran. CE is my favorite origin, but Brosca is my second favorite, and I only played it once. If I play through twice, I'll probably play a CE. I completed a CE warrior (Alistair) and a CE rogue (Leliana). There's an easter egg with Alistair where you can click on your father after the slavers' quest and it shows him with you, your father, and your cousins at the table (which is really sweet since you know how much he wants to be part of a family and the CE oddly has the closest to a normal loving family.) That was one of my early PTs before I discovered Zevran's was so complex, but I was playing it that my CE was fond of Alistair but explained becoming his mistress as giving the elves a voice at court (and since Nelaros was dead, it wasn't as if she would ever get married normally.)

It only works with Alistair, sadly (I don't think it was the result of a mod, but I added a few pretty soon after getting the game.) I actually tested it by loading a save from just before the Loghain confrontation at the Landsmeet, letting Alistair break up with her, going back to camp, running through the Zevran romance until it was complete, and going back to her father's. I also didn't get it with the Leliana romance, and she was the only romance for that CE warden.

I admit , I have trouble playing DA2 with any other combination.

Between, Jo Wyatt's delivery, Victoria Kruger voice acting, unapologetic Isabela (I always romance her on a Friendship path), it's just perfect for me.

That's why it's so easy to murder Hawke in the Fade. I've got no attachments to her attachments. I don't give a ****. LOL.

In the end, Cullen > Alistair.

 

I find Alistair more attractive personality-wise, and maybe physically. However, in terms of enjoyment of the actual romance, I disliked the BS drama that got crammed into Alistair's romance. I don't like drama, or the "oh the feels" crap in real life, and I'd rather not deal with it on a "pretend" level either. 

 

Cullen is just Cullen, and I wish more romances included people who were functional, "worried well," not sociopathic liars or "hit it and quit it" types.

Literally everyone in my playthroughs was gay and a dwarf, but like always, Hawke just had to be the oddball here.

Because so few people gave him a chance. They either kill him before recruiting him, or recruit him but think he's nothing but a shallow @sshole without getting his approval up or even trying to understand him. And even for the few that get past that part, they still think he's nothing but a playboy who won't take a relationship seriously so they don't even try to romance him. So you have to give him a chance, get his approval up which most don't, and then trust him enough to start a romance which most don't. Lots of hurdles. But if you get that far, you realize that he's one of the most in-depth characters in the entire game with an extremely well done romance who's richness will surprise anyone not expecting it.

 

What this ends up doing is cause a fanbase that is small but extremely dedicated. He doesn't have many big fans outside of this board, but the fans he does have are fans for life.

Well... you really made me think about him. I belong to those who haven't romanced him because I saw him as a not serious romance option, but now I know I definitelly have to make a nice city elf for him (btw, I am also doing entire origin story in wedding dress ).

Just make sure to reject his first offering of a gift after killing that other Crow who comes after him. Reject it and confront him about why he's being cold to you now. After that, when he offers it again ACCEPT IT that time. Trust me, it's more touching that way.

It's a mod, improved romance scenes (Alistair). All the backgrounds have a special scene with him, that's the CE scene.

 

There is a mod that adds some special scene with Zevran, not sure on the name.

City elf is my favorite origin. I feel like i'm playing a medieval bride from kill bill . My tabris kept the wedding ring throughout the story, even after ending up in a relationship, mainly out of respect of respect for the guy.

While before DAI came out, he was on the same level as Alistair, in my top, mainly because, while alistair was sweet but with a lot of BS over the top drama, zevran seemed like a classic lady-killer in love . After DAI, he really got a boost, because, even though he appeared as the least serious LI, he is still at the warden's side after 10 years .

Only if you died. Otherwise he's willing to screw Isabella regardless due to a bug. I'm fine with it though, I imagine him and my warden have an agreement that sex just for fun isn't cheating so long as feelings don't enter into it. They both like sex, so why restrict each other from taking pleasures when they happen just because they're apart due to circumstance? Hell, she'd join him in his sex with Isabella (again) if she was there with him. That's my head canon To explain the bug.

Yeah, that is one annoying bug -.-. I personally just ignore it altogether, no "headcannon rationalizations", and I don't let Hawke flirt with him, and don't bring izabela.

If she was who Hawke and Isabella met instead of Zevran, she would have been the one to be happy to get a second round "dueling" Isabella.

Depends on the character . I just can't picture my city elf being that promiscuous. She didn't even met izabela in DAO

I shall have to remember this when I import my Brosca who ended up with Zevran after Alistair died. Just like I never let Isabela near Fenris no matter who I'm romancing, I won't let her near Zevran either.
