Specifically a friendship romanced Isabela by a male Hawke.

I shall have to remember this when I import my Brosca who ended up with Zevran after Alistair died. Just like I never let Isabela near Fenris no matter who I'm romancing, I won't let her near Zevran either.
Glad to be of help
, but is it actually possible to start a romance after endgame, never tried, and I haven't played in a long time ![]()

Not exactly. She kind of romanced them both but never triggered either of the "it's him or me" conversations to lock one out. Then Al died killing Archie and Zev was still around. She got the letter from him in Awakening but not the ring conversations in DAO.

As far as the question of "arrangements," Zevran strikes me as the sort to be comfortable with a fairly open arrangement as long as everything's above-board, but is attached enough that he'd do well in an exclusive arrangement if that's what made his partner more comfortable. One of the nice things about that romance is the flexibility for headcannons.
Well... you really made me think about him. I belong to those who haven't romanced him because I saw him as a not serious romance option, but now I know I definitelly have to make a nice city elf for him (btw, I am also doing entire origin story in wedding dress
).
I highly recommend it; he makes a lot more sense if you play through the whole thing; his is definitely the most thoughtful relationship in that game, IMO and very serious by the end (the WoT2 info definitely adds to that.)

Alistair
Solas gets a distant second
I am doing a Dorian playthrough right now and I like his character more than Solas so we shall see how that goes.

Ugh, Alistair. Try as I might, I just can't get away from the cheesy boy-next-door archetype. Followed by Josephine, because who doesn't love Josephine? Morrigan and Solas are tied for third, since they're both jerks, but they're really well-written jerks with great romances. Isabela gets an honorable mention for being Jack Sparrow With Girl Bits and Character Development.

1. Alistair - Who can resist a beautiful male in the throes of first love, who gives you a rose and is obviously a quick learner?
2. Fenris - Because underneath all the anger, he was so darned smart. Smart is sexy.

For some reason I always dislike male romance (as in not for males, but romance with male characters) options Bioware creates. Even in their old games, like BG2. Their female romances are imho much better. In DA:O I even romanced Leliana, although I'm straight and played a female warden, but her romance was just so much better than Alistaire. In DA:I I tried to like Cullen but couldn't, and because my char is a human I couldn't try romancing any other male character, like Solas. And Blackwall... no, just no. Why are good male options always non-romanceable? *sheds tears* I'd give a lot to romance someone like Nathaniel Howe from Awakening or Minsc from BG2.
Computer romances I really like were not from Bioware's games. But if I have to choose from theirs... I guess Leliana. Very lyrical.
Worst mistake they ever made was not making Nathaniel romanceable.

Isabela & my Witty Duelist Hawke would be my all time favorite. Especially how it plays into the main storyline (in act 2)
But Josephine and my Qunari Swashbuckler was also great, as was Sera and my Human noble inquisitor.

I imagine that if DAA had romance, it'd be DA's first to include the gated variety, since Valenna would likely be an option too, but I couldn't imagine her even giving a shem the time of day.

Basically all my canon'd romances...except for Alistair. (Who I only romanced because the alternative- Zevran, was worse)
Isabella & Dorian.Love em both to pieces! In fact, If I could just have them+ Iron bull in a party my dragon age fantasy would come true.. (*_*")

I have to say Morrigan is my fave just for the reason my dwarf noble warden was a bit of an ass ans so was she but together they foun dtheir soft spot and had genuin romantic moments like the golden mirror or getting her the book with out asking. once Morrigan opens up to the warden it shows how sad and lonly she is.. in witch hunt when she calls out her love and her warden it melts my heart.. thats why my warden never took off the ring she gave him so she could always find him no matter how far they drifted apart they would always be linked by that ring.
Second would be Josie. having to earn her love was much more challenging then simple get her flowers and read poems. I dueled for the hand of my dark skinned love and proved that our love was a real one. to me it was the most romantic romance out of the DAI options..next would be cass and then sera
third would have to be meril. her sweet almost naive personalty and the way she saw the world was just wonderful. my hawke had a soft spot for her and even helped her with the elivion if only to help protect her if anything bad where to happen as it did. he even was able to make sure her clan did not turn on her and accepted her.

I love Sera , but Isabela and my hawke share great memories and fun moments . Something I can't say I saw being developed in DAI . And it isn't Sera fault . But the game fault...

Morrigan, Cassandra, Isabela, and Leliana. I havn't really tried Josephine yet and romancing Merril in DA 2 made me feel kind of creepy.

Alistair!
However if they come up with a satisfying end/continuation to the Solas romance then Solas may become my favorite.

Gotta jump into that Alistair train. He was awkward and dumb. Absolutely adorkable. A very close second is Morrigan - I was annoyed by how close-minded and power-hungry she was, but her relationship with the Warden was very romantic. Their last night together was a heartbreaker.
I like Inquisition romances because there are so many references to it if you're in a romance with someone, which was a cool addition. They could be better, I admit, but the system has evolved over the years.

Alistair because OMG, because its you know, *sigh* stares off dreamily into space. ---> DA:O
Merril because she as such a wonderful outlook on things, also she gets the best outfit change--->DA:2
still busy with DA:I but my fav character is Cassandra, (done dorian and Sara romance were ok, started Cullen)

I like Morrigan's romance as others do but she's just too exhausting to be a favorite. A real life relationship with her would be so difficult. It took meta-gaming just to know what options in the romance were safe.
Agreed. Morrigan was barely worth the effort.
Isabela had similar issues but I found that one much more rewarding in the end. To date, hers is one of the only romances I can say I liked.
Leliana has a good one, too, but I did not finish playing that particular file so I largely do not feel like I even experienced it.
Yeah, honestly, there are not many romances in this series I cared for. I consider kissing Tallis and flirting with Harding better than most of them.
