It's between Zevran and Dorian. Both go well with my personality type.

Plenty of sass and ego? Sign me up.

Zevran, then (friendship) Fenris.

I like Zevran's romance, because it is so unexpected and very hidden if you don't take time to get to know him.

With (friendship) Fenris, I think Hawke really stands by him and helps him deal with his PTSD.

Origins - Leliana. She seems genuinely sorry for offending elven Wardens in that Orlesian serf conversation (my Mahariel <- profile pic), and she has a heart of gold while still understanding that certain things just need to be done. If you do earn her trust and her love, she's incredibly devoted too. Redhead, sweet and caring, and that accent, too.

DA II - Isabela. As Jedi Master said, the growth you see in her character is fantastic. Mostly free of drama, too. Sarc!Fmage!Hawke felt like no one would even want to get to know her for obvious reasons and didn't want to risk it herself, and Isabela being let down by everyone who was supposed to support her makes them want and need each other. After the stupidity of trying to be romantic in the mano y mano Arishok fight, Isabela leaving again for a few years did kinda hurt though.

Inquisition - Haven't played enough of it and/or gotten that far in any romance yet. As Yahtzee said on ZP, "there's a minimum faffing about quota" you get slapped with like every half hour or so of gameplay. Also, I personally feel very gated into the Inq. romances. Previous romances had their quirks in general and their own quirks with the certain kinds of characters I make, so the gating was on two levels and it worked better for me. Now it seems like the romances were written with a very specific kind of player character in mind, so trying to be different in that regard just leaves the romance feeling wrong to me.

After being introduced to the franchise by DA:I, I'm backtracking now.

I know for a fact that Morrigan will be my romance option in DAO, but I'm not sure what to make of DA2.

At first, I thought I wanted Isabela. Just the fact that she's in an awesome novel like Those Who Speak already earns points with me.

But it would be just the same shtick as Morrigan, right? Cynical woman nobody trusts and who doesn't believe in love.

First was Alistair and my elf. I didn't think so at the time because he dumps my elf to be king, and an elf queen would not be tolerated, and I was heartbroken. But if a game can break your heart more than a real life break up, that's pretty good friggen writing.

Second... Fenris.

Third... Blackwall.... must fix broken man...

Leliana for me I just kind of find her a loveable rogue. I pretty much clicked with her right from the moment we met I managed to romance Merrill once which was a kind of sweet little romance. I like the Iron Bull  one from a comical standpoint. I kind of liked the romance between my Female Lavellan mage and Cullen. I haven't tried any of the others yet but was planning either a Josephine romance or a Cassandra one but haven't decided on that yet as that'll be determined by what I choose to be on my next run as I planning on doing my first run possibly as a male Inquisitor next

Not like Morrigan at all. She's fun loving, adventurous, and sociable. Also doesn't believe in a lot of things... while Morrigan has strong views.

I can see why you're comparing it, but it's done in a different way.

I has a question. So far in Inquisition I have only romanced two companions in separate playthroughs, Dorian and that POS Backstabbing MothaFu@king Solas. With Dorian I have the Kiss and "Do something interesting" options. Do these options exist with my future pair of Wolf-skin boots? I'm thinking I may have a bug because I have done the Fade-kiss scene, personal quest and the future skull I drink from calls me "my heart"(LIER!!!!) but my future wolf-skin rug that I will lay at the feet on my throne at Skyhold's Romance Tarot does not appear. I did flirt with Dorian and possibly Cassandra before initiating the actual romance.

Much to my own surprise, I think, I have to say Josephine.  "Much to my surprise" because hers is not the type of romance that I usually go for in these games, generally preferring the ones that end in a breakup for story reasons, but honestly, Josephine's romance felt the most "meaty" to me...granted, I haven't done all of them in this game yet for a variety of reasons (only Josie, Sera, and Solas so far), but I also feel kinda like most of the other romances in the other games just felt like a couple extra token scenes that never felt very...meaningful.

I loved the romance between Zevran and female Tabris. Somehow I got the feeling that Tabris reminded Zevran of Rinna, and that made it more touching but also sad.

Then there was friendshipped Fenris and female sarcastic Hawke. That romance was really touching, and I never once tried the other romances in DA2 because of it.

Lastly, in Inquisition there was Cullen and Lavellan. It was sweet, and I felt that Cullen deserved to get some love after what he's been through. It was also fitting for my Lavellan was a kind, comforting, and understanding individual with a playful side so it worked.

DAO: Alistar.

Even before I found out about his heritage. I loved how sweet, deicated and warm he was. He had me at “ That’s what I’m here for, to dealiver unpleasant news and witty one liners. “

DA2: Anders.

What can I say? While I don’t condone what he does. But for the most part, I find that he is a rather sweet, kind partner for my Hawke.  Plus, I love his charcter.

DAI: SOLAS!

Call me a sucker for heart breaking romances. While before DAI, I was planning on romanceing Iron Bull, Solas had me with pretty much when we first meet him. I just…had to know more about him. then I got hooked. .. even now when I play, I can’t help but romance him.

Ur My name is ShallowLife and I am a Solas-ahloic.

Dorian/non-mage Trevelyan is above and beyond every other romance for me.

Second place is Isabela/FemHawke friendmance. Anders/ManHawke friendmance is my personal canon, but it's too angsty for me to call it a favorite. Plus Isabela is the only one who's made me play multiple female protagonists in a Bioware game with the same love interest. She's that good.

Zevran! Especially if you download the mod that restores a lot of his missing dialogue. He was a very deep romance, and unexpected because of who he is.

Fenris was my first romance ever since I bought DA2 first. I honestly found it to be a lot like Cullen's in DAI now that I think about it, but Anders would be at the top for a dramatic romance considering we know how it ended. I just had trouble hearing Hawke's sappy lines with him and stuck with Fenris where she seemed more herself.

I have to say Solas is my fav in DAI. Not only does it fit with the main plot, the big surprise ending has far more impact and it's the first time my Inquisitor has shown vulnerability and is not the one holding the guy's hand as he cries on her shoulder for comfort. It was her turn to seek comfort.

What's the missing dialogue about? I have the PC version, but mostly play the 360... so no mods.

I used him for my current playthrough (with a variation of the default US/ female Mahariel), but never really played it in game.

Solas because apparently I'm a masochist.

Fenris for DA2. It's such a nice change to see characters bold enough to leave you, you aren't the centre of their universe. Most just love you forever as soon as you get enough approval. Fenris dumps you for three years because he's such a mess. And Solas... sigh, I'm not ready to talk about Solas yet.

It seems that he attains a more friendly attitude toward you in the non-modded game, but in the modded one you get his love dialogue. It might have only been for the PC. At the gates before the final battle you tell him you love him and if he says he knows, it means he loves you. Sometimes it never triggered for people. The second time he gives you the earring and you can make it a proposal glitches on some PC games too. Apparently it's the same with Loghain. Her mod also lets people who befriend him gain his friendly level instead of warm and Loghain will have new dialogue to say since he has come to care for the Warden. Seems lots of stuff was cut or flagged wrong and it made the game run a bit differently than intended.

What shocked me is just how deep the romance with Zevran truly was, and how though he can't say he loves you, you know he does by his dialogue. Sadly a glitch in DA2 makes him seem unfaithful to the Warden and he tries to get Hawke to sleep with him, but if that error was fixed, a romanced Zev will not be unfaithful to your Warden. We even reunited romantically in Antiva at the end of Awakening.

I've seen clips where he's still grieving years later and turns down Isabela. So somehow the bug doesn't trigger for everyone.

Thanks for the info... Never knew that about Loghain either.
