House Tremere in particular, thinking back on what read about the Warlock like Vampires from Vampire the Masquerade, I think they would be the perfect bases for how Blood Magic should and could work, what it could do and so on.

Someone said that they left out Blood Magic in DAI because it was ment to be more like house Malkavian (if done right, with all the consequences), but that could not  be done.

You know, all that demons whispering...

They could implement the demons whispering too. And have the character's resistance to it go lower every time blood magic is used.

If they manage to stave off the demon until after the finale, they get a cool ending where the abomination eats its host's former lover.

You'd also kill the "no dark and gritty enough" complaints with one stone. Win-win!

That would simply be exaggeration from the devs part. Tevinter Imperium has been using blood magic since the dawn of Thedas and did just fine.

Suddenly claiming that blood magic turns you into a monster vampire is is one of the biggest retcon there is. And super lame.

Found this old post of mine from back in December.

http://www.ausgamers...ands-on-preview

"So we aren't actually doing Blood Magic in Inquisition as a specialisation, in part because I made myself a promise -- if we went back to Blood Magic we would do it up real good,” he said. “I felt like we were undercutting its significance, because in the Dragon Age world it is the ultimate temptation. I think think that to do it right it almost needs to be the Malkavian option from Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines. And it's something we need to explore, but in a game where we were also exploring open world and five platforms and multiplayer it seemed like perhaps we had enough irons in the fire.

I'm down for Malkavian inspired Blood Magic.

Me too.  Especially since the deeper lore of the Malkavians implies that they aren't crazy, but rather have access as a clan to deeper knowledge that immediately fractures their minds.  Some are pretty functional, others...not so much.  :D

Not asking for the straight up vampire aspect, but Tremere clans use of blood magic, sounded about right in terms of what I'd think a blood mage could do.

Mal's seem to be spreading their influence faster... my clan is lost it seems.
