Made a freaky nightmare and I screamed DO NOT GET NEAR THEM. I woke up abruptly with the echo of my scream still ringing in my head. I was like ****- I hope I did not scream for real lol.

I had a dream I was Duke Nukem flying around in a jetpack, shooting alien monsters as I spun around.
I was okay with that.

Dreams and the process of dreaming really fascinates me in a profound way.
Too bad I can't get a job studying them

Will Smith had mystical powers with he could predict every future, a nasty future, for everyone in the room where he was. In the meantime, I was hanging out with a nice couple of twin sisters.
I'm getting far worse.

I usually don't mind my dreams unless they involve zombies or happy things.
Now, on to my responses:
I have been intermittently writing down my dreams on awakening since about 2000. Some very interesting imagery/concepts, mostly my fears and hopeless longing, with some stuff i cannot decipher every once in a while. So cool to see the brain speaking in its own language.
Dreams commonly prey on your hopes, fears, memories, and general randomness. It is believed that if you go to sleep while thinking of something, that something will be what you dream about.
like 10 or so, feels like it was like two weeks of night terrors honestly. My family and friends died everytime those nights. Snakes, boars, evil twins, waves of insects, dogs, and many more. I remember vividly trying to stay awake as long as I possible could, because I knew as soon as I fell asleep they were going to die.
During night terrors the subject (victim?) never remembers the content of the dream. Instead, they wake up with an extreme feeling of fear. They're more common in young children than in adults.
You were likely suffering from nightmares that were influenced by your fear of having said nightmare again. Which is why they lasted for so long.
Often (not always, as dream interpretation is highly subjective) these type of dream themes are about fear of mortality/loss of physical attractiveness
Dream interpretation is purely subjective. There's a reason ethical psychologists no longer practice it.
................ I'm having a lot more wet dreams then usual. Last night, I dreamed that I had sex with my social studies teacher, Miss. Johnson........ Who's over 60 years old......
I think you need some...alone time... ![]()
I never remember my dreams, which sucks.
Then you don't wake up during them then. It is believed that dreaming (REM stage of sleep) is the period that is the most beneficial for humans. The only time you will not be dreaming is if you're taking medication that helps you sleep, or if you're participating in a very cruel sleep study where they wake you up the moment you enter the REM stage.
Cool thread, I actually had a dream two nights ago. In it, my entire family was on a cruise ship( I don't know why ) when everything took a serious Godzilla twist. These giant, giants( tall lanky people, covered in barnacles) rose up from the ocean they all had four arms and started plucking people of the ship and eating them. It scared the **** out of me, seems as though the only dreams I can ever remember are my nightmares.
Because you wake up during them. It's amazing what fear does to the dreams that we remember... ![]()

You didn't study psychology then. There's a whole subsection that researches sleep. I have no idea if we still do anything about dreaming though.
Edit: Although, it may have fallen into the realm of neuroscience now.

When I was a child, about 5 or so, I used to have these episodes where I would wake up in the middle of the night in terror.
I was under the impression that I was in a vast plain of white, where enormous rectangular blocks rose out of the ground.
They were 'too large', like skyscrapers, and I felt that I was being boxed in and about to be crushed.
It lasted for a few minutes after waking.

Not so many years ago, I had the scariest dream in my life. Some random imagery stuff, followed by a synth voice my sleeping mind immediately associated with the devil, saying: "I will come back at the end of your life". The bold part is the only certain part I remember, the other could have been "I will strike you" or "I will ruin you". I was scared as hell for at least a week.

You should take that one seriously!
Either I escaped from them or fought them in my dreams. They never spoke to me.

I believe it's just a dream, although I believe in Satan and his demons' existence and action.
Even if it was a real deal, I don't fear it because I have strong faith and I don't value demonic activity more than a midget trying to blind you with a kamikaze move.

Me and one of my homies share all our dreams, no matter the content.
Last night I dreamt that my dad had died yesterday, when he actually died approx a year ago. Weird. In the dream I slapped a younger cousin whom I dislike in the face just for the hell of it. The funeral was at the hospital where he died, and when I arrived I'd missed the funeral but walked into a party. Was a good dream really.
I've had a dream where I tried to bang one of my grandmothers and another one where I was gay.

There are three things I find interesting or even puzzling about my dreams:
1: While there are plenty of people that I seem to know in my dreams, I very, very rarely have a dream that features anyone that I know in real life. Only some occasional times have I had a dream featuring a real life family member or friend.
2: Same with homes. My homes in dreams are like nothing I've ever lived in, in real life. At the most, I could say that one of them reminded somewhat about one of my uncles place, when I was a kid.
3: Same with workplaces. My jobs in dreams are like nothing I've ever had in real life.
